long way to go yet before we have a new manager but as we are feeling the need to be economic, I feel we could do a lot worse than Sheehan assisted by Rutter.

I don't know how or why these books are made. Bookmakers traditionally quoted odds to attract money and the money adjusted the odds accordingly. 1/3 will attract absolutely zero. So unless Messrs Wilkinson and Sweet have had a massive bet on Jones then it is total bollox.

That'll be because Nathan called his previous employers and laid a £2 bet on himself.
Whilst I love his footballing philosophy and contacts within the lower levels to acquire some fantastic untapped talent, I find it quite significant that it only properly came together in L1 when Rutter joined. It appears that NJ needed a proper buffer between him and the players to get the best out of them and I cannot help but think GJ would have massively benefited from having that continuation to help him through his first managerial appointment. Rumours that Brabin was coming back onto the roster at the expense of Rutter didn't sit well with me at that time and I still don't think it was a progressive move football-wise, nice guy or not.
I think we'll play next season in L1 (or whatever format that league takes) and, for that reason I'd try (yes, it is only a try) Sheehan and Rutter as suggested by Wimbo if both were available, willing and able. Hopefully they wouldn't be too expensive and won't need to bring loads of analysts to over-complicate stuff.
Maybe even bring Macca back to scare the bejeebers out of any under-performers on the pitch. It could mean the Golden Gamble having a side bet included - the minute in which the first of Macca and Sheehan got yellow or red card!
Cannot see even Nathan getting a look in bearing in mind some of the written comments by directors following his departure. Even then, the bridge to his relationship with the fans is well and truly burnt to a crisp. So many fans were looking forward to giving him both barrels when we played Stoke but he'd already departed by then.
One other lower league manager who has impressed and turned his club into a force with little resources is Michael Duff at Cheltenham. But, as we know, our club claim they aren't even looking ... so maybe they're playing the waiting game to see which managers become available due to the other clubs going into administration. Dog eat dog, eh?

I’m sure GS will treat speculation and (2 metre plus) advances from prospective successors with great politeness, and that will be all.
Many clubs will envy managerless Luton and I think there will be other clubs actively seeking to conclude consensual departure arrangements. I think that GS is in a minority of football owners to have grasped that without a vaccine, or an equivalent secure ‘passport’ of good health , match days will not happen.
As for who, when the time comes, well it’s something else to help pass the time.

I’m happy for Graeme Jones to come back- i think things were starting to work out i.e cutting out the playing out from the goalkeeper, Sluga’s form had really picked up, Hylton coming back...I’m a hopeful hatter and i still believed we could stay up. GJ only left under financial reasons in these circumstances... An unpopular opinion maybe, but i’d have Newell back with Mick as no2, worked ok before, we have far better owners/ directors who just wouldn’t allow the financial ruin that occurred before... Nathan Jones, well it’s still mostly his team...but i support whoever 2020 line up.
But i think we are a long way off appointing anyone. What exactly would a manager be managing?

Yes, I agree there is absolutely no rush & Mick can look after things whilst the UK fooball decision-makers sort out our season.

Mick managing again? Shouldn't he be out scouting? Ahh, I belatedly see a slight flaw in my argument. No managerial applications is probably because nobody except Mystic Meg knows which division we'll be playing in after this season so the experience and competency of the manager and his backroom staff is an unknown. As of yesterday, I do have one major concern: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52465563 Please NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'd rather we played without a manager than think of him anywhere near my club ... 'managerial distancing' rules apply to him and the other 'regulars' on that carousel.
