www.lutontown.co.uk/news/2020/may/club-statement/I retain trust in 2020 - but - I am a bit shaken up by this - anyone think first talks took place during the lockdown and before Graeme Jones departed? apparently it was Mick Harford who persuaded Gary Sweet to extend an olive branch and pick up the phone to NJ - ( We are Luton Town website reports) need to know when that was...

If anything, today's news gives me confidence that LTFC may not slide into a post Covid oblivion after all. We are all in agreement that any decisions GS/2020 make are only made in the best interests of the club. Even if the Championship was/is to finish, I was expecting a summer of OoC players all leaving, no new signings, no manager and Mick Harford at the wheel of a club cutting all costs as it tries to survive. That a managerial appointment has been made at all, be it NJ or anyone else, I do at least get the impression that 2020 feel they can get LTFC moving in the right direction. I hope we have a club to support that we can disagree about whether NJ is right or not.
I can't really argue with those who say if he's shat on us once, he can do it again. If JonesyBoy succeeds again, he'll be offered more elsewhere. Hopefully he'll put greater importance on footballing decisions from now on................he says more in hope than expectation.
Just one thing, lets end all this 'we have/will strengthen every transfer window'. Our January business, other than Sheehen and Moncur, has been poor and only bloated the squad. This could be one area where GS, not Jones, is very much calling the shots now.

I suspect there will be a press conference this afternoon with the returning Nathan: Is he going to Barnard Castle or specsavers? Good one Bill!!

NJ is a god-fearing man and so let's maybe welcome back our Prodigal Son. I've seen talk of another manager leaving a club and then returning, Eddie Howe went from Bournemouth to Burnley and returned and took the Cherries to greater heights.Jones differs from Howes with the way he departed so a different story.

No thanks Liz, 'people should make up their own minds’ In that case, I'll take a shot on it's either Cummings or Nathan. I think both are excellent decisions. Sh1t happens and we either learn to live with it or accept the stress that it may bring. Possibly a tad pointless as there is absolutely nothing we can do to change it.

This appointment is a no brainer. The board have chosen to let bygones be bygones. Jones has shown sufficient contrition for me. Jones has shown sufficient courage to face the inevitable shitstorm from some quarters. His knowledge of the club at all levels is invaluable.
I totally and unconditionally support his appointment and look forward to survival by finishing just above Stoke.
