I'm 50/50 on the appointment.
While I hated the manner in which NJ left us as soon as he had his GABO, I'm sure all at the club in 2020 did too.
However after he apologised to the Board for his actions and then supporters in his interview, I can see the sense in the Board decision.
We have a Manager who KNOWS our club and most of the team's players. He is desperate to resurrect his managerial career and made a packet from his Stoke sacking so doesn't 'need' the money.
Therefore we now have a Manager at a very competitive rate to LTFC, which in this crisis is vital economics.
I believe NJ is capable of getting us out of the bottom three this season.
He will have no fans giving him any initial 'stick' but more important and it is my belief - two clubs namely Sheff Wed and Derby will be prosecuted before the end of THIS season with large point deductions for breaking FFP regulations and if Charlton do not very soon complete their new owner takeover bid - they will enter Administration with points deducted!
I also believe that if we can manage to escape Relegation, Steve Rutter will return with a key role at the club, but repeat ONLY if we are a Championship club next season!
Now that ALL the playing staff have played their part (at last - no thanks to the PFA/Agents) by accepting wage deferrals backdated to May 1st - I have renewed my Season Ticket today. We are now past the 4,000 mark.
If anyone hasn't yet, is in a position and can afford to, please do so.
I'm only guessing, but it might be for a period when fans are allowed back in grounds, that Season Ticket holders have first priority?
This last sentence is just me guessing ............the other statements I believe to be true.
Ps One thing Nathan PLEASE - spare us any shirt hugging badge kissing Pish! We won't fall for it a 2nd time.

I just hope he has another shirt now other than that Stoke one which was "the only one he had" for the L1 MOM award, well so he said so it must be true as all things he says.

Thanks Liz, Lake and Rutland.
My main reaction so far (despite my earlier comments) has been one of being wholly underwhelmed. I suppose part of it comes from feeling that next ‘real’ season (I.e, crowds) feels so far away that any appointment has little meaning. Irrespective of the Nathan baggage, if GS is so determined to maintain Championship status, why recruit someone whose record with a ‘superior’ squad was so poor? Or is Nathan wracked with guilt and so has offered his services at a bargain rate - I owe you Gary? Or will the Prodigal Son yet be our Saviour? Who knows - take care everyone

Whether you love or hate the new appointment you cannot dispute that there couldn't be a better time for NJ to return, i.e., no fans to crucify him for the next 9 games if they happen.
I read that he has agreed with GS to add one person to his backroom team and with yesterday's announcement that Alan Sheehan had left Lincoln in mind it would not be difficult to make a connection. However, we cannot discount the possibility that this mystery person could be one of those that went with NJ to Stoke. Time will tell.

Personally,i hope the person NJ (Judas) brings back is Steve Rutter rather than his old mate Paul Hart. I fear however that my preferred option will not be chosen, whoever's chosen has got to hit the ground running as we've only got NINE game's to save our Championship survival.
Let's all keep hoping that together we can support our team whatever the outcome! COYH.

In fact I would prefer him to any of the Stoke trio.

Hart is currently working part-time for the company Mattress Man as a comfort tester; so, who knows, maybe if the bench could be made a touch comfier he could be persuaded to return.

Amen to all that Boston, just my opinion but I always thought Rutter was instrumental to our successful L1 campaign ... I do hope he’s high on the list.

I see a lot of love for Steve Rutter - and I know that his arrival with us, at the very least, coincided with the team settling to better football and more winning ways - but does anyone have actual knowledge, as in overhearing him giving instructions, reports from players, inside snippets etc... of what he brings? Don't get me wrong, I suspect it is quite a bit - his career is both international and eclectic but also generally short bursts, spaced, and he seems to walk more often than get fired... does he want to come back from Greece? - (where they have handled the pandemic 30x better than the UK) and he's at a super league club with his old mate? to be with another old mate that he also walked away from... intriguing stuff.
and I am totally on board with what Luton Loyal said on May 29th.
