No news is good news ?...or is it not good news ?
I have searched through the official club site, and can find no reference at all regarding the two developments...Gary Sweet told me 4 years ago that Newlands Park was 75% signed up to, by would be investors...Obviously the long delay and a quickly changing market has affected the initial plans, but I can't help but worry when we do not seem to be getting any progress reports as to any changes to the plans and responses from hopefully new prospective investors.
Am I not looking in the right places for information, I am beginning to wonder if our dreams are not going to be realised !
Anyone else getting a little bit worried ?

Tony, the carpark at Power Court has been extended and there are plenty of Earth moving vehicles in there. Plus the notices about us producing our own hard core from the concrete breaking are up.
I will walk the full 200 yards from Church Street Bus stop to P. C and give you the best update I can. As for Newlands......... I did hear we are short of 2 Main Investors, but that is vague to say the least....

Cheers Curlz...I do know that it will take about a year to make the ground "safe" at Power Court...and it appears that some major work is going on, with the River Lea, just before it disappears under the ground ?...With the dramatic downturn in retail units due to On-Line shopping, and now the Corona-virus threat, which is already impacting on the Aviation industry and Luton Airport...It would seem that anything that could go wrong...is going wrong.
Obviously 2020 directors are not super rich, I believe they have shelled out £20,000,000 on buying the land at PC. and Newlands...And the investment in Newlands was required to build the Stadium...If that investment does not materialise...What then ?... Plan B perhaps ?
Now that could be to sell PC to a mega rich overseas investor, who could afford to build the Stadium...that way 2020 business men would get their money back !
Also, not sure why apparently 2020, were upset about Aldi being granted permission to build their multi supermarket store at Gypsy lane ? were they one of the possible investors ?

Aldi store would be on land wanted for new "dome" for upgraded academy/U21 setup etc also PC plans included a supermarket but would that now be viable?

Yes Ickle...I wonder if Aldi were one of the PC hopefuls ? Although I don't recall any mention of a Supermarket at PC originally !

Tassie Old Friend. I stood at Power Court for 30 Mins Yesterday and work is still going on in there, admittedly on a small scale but nevertheless going on.
I watched as the Toureen excavator loaded up lorries to take away Tonnes of Earth/ Rubble/ Rocks/ Contamination who knows what, but load it up they did.
It looks very like some of the tackle in there would be used for Piling (Wild guess), but not a wholly unaccurate one Perhaps.
I will personally let you know if they start to put the Big Crane together.

Unless It snows on Tuesday I will be heading to town. I will stand in the most advantageous spot I can find, usually on the little embankment surrounding the furthermost car park. From there I can see the excavator and conveyor belt, and also do a count of how many lorries leave site in say a 30 minute period. I will be out of My comfort zone if I stand around any longer than that.

Thanks Cutlz. PLEASE DO NOT endanger yourself ! Construction sites are far more dangerous than some Division One grounds, hopefully we won’t be experiencing those after Wednesday or after the sweet FA make the correct decisions ? COYH

Righto Tassie. I was at Power Court Yesterday for about an hour or so I guess. Not a single lorry left site in that time, but the excavator was very busy. there are 5 different piles of stuff of varying grades, but one huge pile of boulders which looked to be part of one of the main bases given the thickness of the stuff, waiting to be taken away or put through the hard core machine I guess.
Some new steel has arrived in Grey Primer instead of the usual black steel which is obviously temporary stuff. The new stuff were sections, and pre drilled in many places, but I must stress it was just a part load.
The mobile conveyor belt was not running but was being worked on and had changed position since My last visit, now running parallel with the road St. Marys church is on.
Once again the road layout has been altered which I assume to be the Norm on a Brownfield site, on this particular bit of road however I did spot 5 Huge containers full of scrap re-bar, ready and waiting to be weighed in, as the weighbridge is still operational.
What looked like the gantry for the main section of the large crane has appeared, the walkway that goes around the top of the crane, before the final boom section.
Oh and the Workers cabins/offices are now up in the air on legs, and it looks suspiciously like a security cabin is being set up, Site access and permits and all that good stuff.
I don't envisage much of a change in the next week or so Tass so I will go back in a couple of weeks unless of course I spy something from the Bus on My way into town.
