Okey Dokey Folks, I'm going on the Lash on Friday so will... All being well be down at Power Court then. I will start at Noahs as usual and note anything worthy, I will then take the inside line as there is a safe way through ( For the benefit of Tassie ) and hopefully have a word with any inhabitants I come across as there are still a few businesses operating in there. Then back out on to St. Marys and round the corner to the St. Annes end as I want to take a look from a higher vantage point. If I can sneak in around the back of the Auction House or the Wine place that would be a real bonus.
Basildon Bond signing off for the Moment

Date : 31st July ;
Mission : Power Court Reconnaissance ;
Agent : Bond ;
Morning All, Bond here, Basildon Bond.
I started Fridays Mission at around 10.50am at My usual starting place of Noah's. Across the first car park and up onto the slight embankment, I immediately noticed the Conveyor system looked like it was set up more Military fashion and was running. What I had never noticed before ( As I have no Binoculars ) was the Hard core crushing machine is inbuilt into the conveyor set up. It was producing no less than 3 separate grades of rubble / Hard core.
The JCB was as usual hard at it alternating between shifting soft Earth and loading the larger lumps of concrete to feed the crusher. That guy never seems to stop.
I also got the name of the company operating on Power Court or at least 2 of them, the First being Tilley and Barrett Demolition, whom I'm assuming set up the Hard core Producer.
I also noticed quite a number of the very large concrete blocks, the type used on the M1 etc, traffic management blocks I guess you would call them... Not to be argued with.
The road way has had the turnaround facility extended and tidied up somewhat, I'm guessing for additional vehicles for loading the trucks up that are due to leave site, Not really economic to use the JCB as he would be Back and Forth every 5 Minutes or so.
I then made My way along the inside line to the area occupied by the small businesses operating in there, but could see very little of the development as the fencing is still in decent knick. So I headed for the exit around the back of the last building, expecting nothing but a pathway unkempt and overgrown, what I got was a massive eye opener. There was a slight break in the hedging so obviously I put My life in My hands and ventured through.
I had stumbled upon an entire village, There were Sofas, chairs, a table, clothes strewn around the floor, these villagers must do their washing like that, sort of let Mother Nature takes it's course, on the table was a bottle, no not Newcastle Broon or Vodka, but hand sanitizer, wonders never cease. The one thing missing were the Village People, Maybe they had all gone to the YMCA.
Nevertheless It is a way on to site I'd not seen before and could possibly use in future. I then moved out and on to the main road Just shy of the Roundabout. Up the Hill to the main entrance, and proceeded down the path were I happened upon another firm, AAe. These are environmental people, monitoring just about everything I guess, but today however they were concentrating on noise levels, I'm assuming for the Council or Government.
A number of the concrete blocks were laid out managing the site traffic flow. At that A guy inside came striding toward me, Hat, Boots, All the usual clobber. I just explained I'm not a threat and was only here to check on progress ( Obviously wearing one of My Luton Tops helped). Well I had a good chat with him, I will call him Paddy Murphy for the minute, till hopefully I get his name next time.
Basically he ran through with me what had being going on since the Project Kicked off and it sounded pretty much like I'd Missed nothing out from previously.
I still can't fathom why the office block is up in the air, that can be My Icebreaking question on My next visit. Paddy did tell me though, as far as he is aware, his company will not be responsible for the re-routing of the river, or indeed the piling waiting to be carried out, but now I have planted the seed in his head he may well have an answer or two for Me next time. We shook hands ( Costs nothing to be nice ) and parted company.
I certainly do not wish to appear too optimistic but I would like to think after a dozen or so visits I might get the Royal invite on to site, or more Precisely into the office, as that is where I'm More at home, with the hot coffee and a bunch of Engineering drawings. You never know if GS does read Our Board he might be the One doing the inviting.
Till the next time Guys.
Your Servant
Basildon Bond.

Liz. I never saw more than half a dozen people at any given time, but not having any binoculars is a bit restricting as I could not tell how many people were in the offices or indeed hiding in the various earth moving vehicles. As for the stockpile of Hard core, it looked very Much like the start of the process and not in full swing yet. I would guess it's a big enough site to store the hard core right there, but again, questions I can ask My New Best Mate next time I'm there...

So I googled Tilley and Barrett, they are demo specialists. AAe environmental specialists, with a small website.0208424733is the listed number, perhaps on Monday someone might like to give them a call. Bit expensive from here ! COYH
