I saw Cliff and the Shadows live, and PJ Proby, both at the Savoy cinema in Luton, The Kinks at Bristol University and a female singer whose name I can't remember at the LSE. I've alo been to the Royal Albert Hall once and apart from performances by Jess over the years and her dad's band that is the absolute sum total of my music going life. Was that the night PJProby split his trousers? I saw the Beatles at the Odeon Bury.Park and the Stones at the Ritz or maybe the Savoy. Didn't see any classical stuff at the Albert Hall but saw Peter Greens Fleetwood Mac there. Plus every year the American Blues Festival was held at the A. Hall on one occasion after the show saw Ginger Baker getting into his Jensen sports car. Apparently that little weeze with the trouser splitting was part of the act as he did the same at Croydon and Walthamstowe.

I remember my older brother telling me he'd just seen this great band at the Cali, it was the Stones. He went out the next day and bought the single "Come On" so probably at the same gig as you. I still have that single. He also saw them at the Majestic in Luton around the same time. I have a huge book by Bill Wyman who became the bands historian which tells of every gig the Stones did up untill Wyman's departure. It's called Rolling with the Stones.

And it was the night he split his trousers --across the knee, and they were lined! We went to the Albert Hall for a Christmas Concert given by, I think, the London Philarmonic. It was a treat for Jess from someone we knew who was a patron of the orchestra.

So my questions are: How many of those songs could you perform without having to relearn the lyrics? Some great artists there including some of the performing legends. Who is your favourite? What is your favourite tune/song?

Oh my Liz...I start to sing a song in the shower, that i have known all my life, and suddenly forget the words !!! At most possibly 20 with confidence, and they would be mainly by Sinatra...The song I have performed most is probably 'My Way'. Several 'stars' used to have the lyrics set on discreet screens, around the stage. I do love the great performers...Sinatra, Judy Garland. and the under rated and sadly missed Joe Longthorne.

I have a couple of excellent CD's which get a regular airing whilst I'm out testing my eyesight (driving), "Tribute to the Stars & This is Me" excellent music from an excellent recording artist. A pint of Australia's finest awaits the first person who correctly names this sensational natural treasure.

Do they still put CD players in vehicles. Can't think why.

Do they still put CD players in vehicles. Can't think why. Come on Flatty, all the latest (top of the range) Vauxhall Velox motors have CD players fitted as standard.
