Last time we played the Canaries away we were in lockdown, so tomorrow will be my first away/home game since Ruth Rendells winner in the cup. Following our deserved win at the weekend we travel to Carrow Road full of confidence. They've lost their last two games and will be up for getting back on track. Hope to see a few fools in the "Fine City" tomorrow night. COYH!
Canaries Trivia. The "South" Stand where the away fans sit is not the compass direction south, but is named after Sir Arthur South who at 21 was elected onto Norwich City Council as a Labour councilor. He went on to become chairman of Norwich City football club.

The South Stand away fans section far right. Next is the Holiday Inn Hotel where some guests have rooms with views of the match.

If you’re lucky enough to go tonight, be aware that there are some serious roadworks on the A11 (BOTH ways).
They run for 5 and a half miles, 40mph speed limit, yes there are average speed cameras there also..
They run between the B1135, Wynondham & the Thickthorn roundabout ( where the A47 & A11 cross).
Hope this is of some assistance.

We were indeed certainly the first (since matched by Lincoln at Burnley) to knock out a Premiership club AND away from home. Off the top of my head I can also remember two other top flight old Div One sides losing at home to a non league club. 1974-75 Burnley 0 Wimbledon 1 and in 1985-86 Birmingham 1 Altrincham 2.............pretty sure there are no others? and of course these were in the days when the FA Cup meant far more to top flight clubs and their fans - than regular league matches did!

Midweek away games ( & possibly as the oncoming winter months arrive, some midweek home ones too ? ) are going to be ever increasingly difficult for me to attend, due to work/health issues. Therefore sadly, I shall not be attending my 679th Luton away game tonight, or adding to my 11 Carrow Road visits from 1970 - to THAT 2013 FA Cup win!
On a side note, my late Dad & Granddad Adair attended every single 1959 FA Cup tie in our great run to the Final - 5-1 Leeds (H), 1-1 Leicester (A) 4-1 Leicester (H) Replay, 5-2 Ipswich (A), 1-1 Blackpool (A) & THAT Replay 1-0 (H) in front of our record home gate 30,069, 1-1 Norwich (N) at White Hart Lane, Tottenham and the Replay 1-0 (N) at St Andrews, Birmingham.
But because of a shambolic LTFC way of distributing the Wembley Final tickets - Lord Mayor, local Councillors etc and their wives all getting one - regular fans including my Dad/Granddad - missed out !!!!! There were many angry irate Hatters fans and some I'm led to believe, who never ever returned as a result.

Hope this is of some assistance. Living in Norwich I use the A11 quite a lot, and although there is this section of road works it doesn't impact too much regarding traffic jams. As long as drivers keep.to the 40mph limit the traffic runs smoothly and probably puts about 10 mins onto the journey time over that section. More of a problem is that Norwich City centre is almost car free and the ring roads can get very congested at rush hour and on football nights so leave enough time to get to your proposed parking place.

He's a fan of space-rock/Canterbury/psychedelic band Gong. He also plays in a prog/electronic/synth/pipe band with Gong guitarist Kavus Torabi and piper and various other wind instrument player Michael York. I really did find the South Stand article interesting Steve. COYH!!

The Long and Wensum Road Norwich’s principal river, the Wensum, flows next to Carrow Road, behind the West stand , which appears a stronger candidate to be known as The South Stand or is it just my compass? Anyway, Wensum is Old English for ‘Winding’. The name of the river is also a popular expression ast most football fans - you Wensum, you lose some.
