The Long and Wensum Road Norwich’s principal river, the Wensum, flows next to Carrow Road, behind the West stand , which appears a stronger candidate to be known as The South Stand or is it just my compass? Anyway, Wensum is Old English for ‘Winding’. The name of the river is also a popular expression ast most football fans - you Wensum, you lose some. 👏👏 Well that was one we Wen-ed!!! Wahaaaaaay!

😁😁. The stand near the river was called The River End when first I came to the Fine City, it then became the Norwich and Peterborough Stand named after a building society, God knows what it's called now but who cares 0-1 to the Hatters!😁 My first Carrow Road visit was in Dec 1970 shatter. Div Two Norwich 1 (Ken Foggo pen) Luton 1 (Malcolm Macdonald) Att: 17,038. Malcolm Macdonald attempted an audacious shot straight from a kick off pass that oh so nearly caught Canaries keeper Kevin Keelan off his guard and missed the goal by inches. Mac soon gave us a lead on 13 mins, only for our Jack Bannister punched away an 89th min Terry Anderson header, of which Foggo scored the pen. As one would expect, the ground is totally changed on all four sides/ends for over 50 years ago, compared to their fine stadium now. That particular day my late Dad, a neighbour schoolmate and I stood on the side covered terrace opposite the Main Stand. To our right was a covered end terrace named the Barclay End where the Norwich 'singers' stood and to our left was an open terrace. I have stood/sat on 3/4 sides at CR in my 11 visits, only the Main stand side missing.

An excellent three points against one of the pre season promotion favourites - as they SHOULD be with their obscene reward for Premiership failure of £45m parachute payments (and another £30m next season if they fail to win promotion in 2022-23) !
We have won a ticket to the raffle in the LTFC record signing of Carlton Morris. The difference between this season and last, is that we now have a better SQUAD to help us counter injuries that cost us oh so dear in May.
All the Social Media keyboard warriors especially on Facebook, have all of a sudden gone very quiet following our great recent form of 7 unbeaten games, 4/5 away wins and just one defeat in our last 11.
But I will not get carried away just yet - Never too high & never too low remember John Still's wise words!
Before Saturday vs QPR I'd have been delighted with three points from that game, last night and on Sunday even would have took losing to QPR & Norwich if it meant beating our foes.
Now I'm getting greedy and am desperate not to lose at the allotments. 3 points would be utopia.

Another 16 points should guarantee another season in the Championship. And another blank for me in the Bobberman. This team is currently outperforming expectations.
In the all-time list of Luton managers, surely Jones, with the finances available, must be up there at the very top.
Man of the Match, for me a choice of two. Morris for a great winning goal or Lockyer for 98 minutes of excellence. I'll go with Lockyer, he deserves a couple of days off.

Well, that was a fun evening, and I’ve maintained my 100% record at away games . My mom definitely Lockyer - Pukki hardly had a sniff all evening.

I think Lockyer is a good player and is definitely having a very good season and played well last night. However if VAR had been in operation it is likely that the sending off incident would have had a different outcome. when the corner was taken and the ball in play Lockyer had his arms wrapped around Mc.Clean's body. If the referee had been called to the monitor he would in all likelehood have given a penalty. Lockyer would have had a yellow card and Mc.Clean would have possibly got away with a yellow as he was being fouled and trying to free himself. In fact they may have also deduced that there was hardly any contact at all.
On the other hand if there was VAR perhaps Lockyer would not have done it. Fans are always complaining about referee's decision making, I guess its a case of being careful what you wish for.

Let's see if they appeal Bob. I agree Lockyer was all over him but it was a deliberate left hook delivered aggressively!

Bob, if we went down that holding at a corner route, then there would be about 10 penalties awarded per game IMO. Whilst I feel that holding, shirt pulling etc in the area should be sorted by the authorities, I can't see that what Lockyer did was any worse than what happened at just about every corner i.e. in that same incident Fred has his arms around a Norwich player with the intention of preventing his movement. Was it a red? Well even on slowing the video down to 1/4 speed it seems that McLean raised his arm/elbow to escape Lockyer but the angles are not great on the video. To be fair to the referee, he was in a better position than anybody including the video, to judge and without a second of hesitation, raised the red card.

The main reason I raised the subject was that on Sunday in the Leeds v Arsenal match the referee awarded a penalty to Leeds and sent off Gabriel. VAR have to review all sendings offs and upon review the referee realised that Bamford had dived. He rescinded the sending off and Yellow carded Bamford and awarded a free kick to Arsenal.
Last night the sending off would have had to be reviewed and it would be obvious Lockyer committed an offence in Law punishable by a direct free kick. The referee would not be able to ignore it due to the circumstances. Do we want to have VAR for the Championship or shall we leave it as is, in which case we will have to accept the human frailities of referees and refrain from continually berating them.

I think you need 50 points to be pretty safe in the Championship, not 40.
