I have been thinking (not a good idea you might say!) about what happens if fans don't get back into grounds before the end of the season. How many will renew season tickets just to watch on ifollow? How many will be able to afford to even if they want to with furlough and redundancies? A restructuring of football may come sooner rather than later.

I agree with your line of thinking. For clubs to survive they will need to reduce costs, especially in the short term. I have not given this a great deal of thought but suggestions that spring to mind immediately are: Reduce the size of the divisions of the EFL to ensure that clubs only play one game a week, this would probably mean the creation of another division. Playing one game a week should help to reduce the number of injuries and enable clubs to reduce staff and wages. Consider bringing in a regulation that each team must play 1 or 2 players under the age of 20 in their starting elevens and another two at least in their match day squads, these players to be their academy players. This would aid the development of players and also reduce the wage bill.
I am sure there are many other actions that can be considered and for professional football to survive intact, it is obvious that changes will have to be made. If clubs go to the wall then more fans will be deprived of a club to support or watch and the game will suffer as a result. Look forward to hearing other suggestions, hopefully from brainstorming ideas an effective restructuring can evolve.
The main problem to overcome effective positive change will be self interest and greed, which has ultimately led to the downfall of a multitude of seemingly strong and powerful dynasties throughout history.

I will probably renew my season ticket although I don't find ifollow that enthralling but will help the club out in a small way. Im in a position to be able to afford the cost and without travelling costs I'm saving money.
Whatever happens we must try to stay in the Championship. My big worry is that NP and PC will be put on the back burner until business confidence returns.
