I noticed a thread on Outlaws yesterday about peoples impressions of watching football on ifollow. Although it's better than nothing I'm finding less interest in intently watching a game, and during yesterdays match I did some washing up during the second half, with the phone in another room. During lockdown we all craved to see some live sport, so when we came out of lockdown and ifollow arrived it was great to watch "Town" live again. But football IMO is a spectator sport with all the match day build up, meet up with friends pre match, the walk to the stadium and then the ups and downs of the match itself. So what I'm getting at is that Saturdays are now for me turning my smart phone onto ifollow at 2.55pm and sitting in my front room with nothing stronger than PG Tips! I know I'm stating the bleeding obvious, but I can't wait to get back to live football at Kenilworth Road! I honestly think that 10,000 fans at the Kenny yesterday would have given the lads the impetus to have got a result (definitely, maybe!). Home teams seem to be struggling to win, yesterday I believe of the ten matches played in the Championship six were away wins.

Steve, I think that you find that away wins also dominated the results when the back end of last season resumed BCD. With most teams, not LTFC of course, having little away support, therefore, playing BCD must affect the dynamics of the game and the home team much more than the away team.

Interesting topic. Playing BCD creates a more even playing field especially for the away team, however there is still a greater expectation on the home side to win and therefore more pressure. This expectation may gradually reduce the longer matches are played BCD. There may even be an advantage for the away team in having to travel in a group in that they have longer together to create team spirit and plan.
I agree with Steve in that I miss the whole match day experience and the opportunity to meet with friends and share a pre match drink (or two). I Follow is not the same but I am grateful for the opportunity to watch and look forward to it, even though at times find it most frustrating and have to be careful to moderate my language if the grandchildren are present.

Good topic Steve.
Like you, I enjoy the proximity of the kettle, the pause facility and the luxury of doing other stuff right up to kick off and sometimes during the game. There’s little to be grateful for in terms of all things Covid, but as well as being able to watch from afar, I think the BCD was a great advantage to us at the end of last season and may well have helped seal our current status.
TV coverage can be frustrating because you can only see what the camera allows - so much in a good match happens away from the ball. The cardboard fans are a bit on the quiet side too. Although there’s apparently less motivation for the home sides, there’s less barracking of mistakes. Would be interesting to see if home advantage has disappeared since the restart?
I too miss the whole match day thing, mainly the travelling which I often found as entertaining as the games - sometimes more. I only miss the atmosphere at KR and of course seeing other fans - I don’t miss the least hygienic and comfortable place on earth 😀 and the tiny number of aggressive fans which sadly all clubs have.

Just had a check on the Championship results from Friday night through to yesterdays game at PNE
Friday Watford away win.... Saturday six away wins, three draws and one home win...... Sunday Cardiff away win.
So 8 Aways, 3 draws and 1 home win at Brentford!! Might be a freak weekend but will see what happens in future matches.

I miss the whole match experience as well, not to metion Music (talking via WhatsApp during a game isn't the same at all!). I agree with Sunshine that only seeing what the camera wants is frustrating and was the main reason, prior to covid, I rarely watched TV games. It is good to see JJ in the crowd week after week --albeit in cut out form! The only positive is that in my house I have clean facilities and no queueing!

All a bit odd then! Firefox seems to be the go to browser for iFollow. It might be worth trying Chrome it may be more suited to Windows 7. Ultimately you should upgrade to Windows 10 but why bother when you have two devices to watch on!

Reason for wanting it on laptop is to be able to watch when away from home. Fire is ok for listening but too small for comfort watching. I'll try another browser.

Installed Opera on laptop & managed to login to iFollow! That's good. Probably worth installing Windows 10 for the future of your laptop. I think you can still, with a little digging, get the free upgrade from 7 to 10. Microsoft are very keen to get everybody onto 10.
