Well, the old season’s only just finished but the new one’s not far away, and I’ve been encouraged by responses on the board to launch the fundraising for next season’s kit sponsorship. Hatter28 will know more accurately than me, but I reckon this is around the 12th consecutive season the loosely-connected group of posters on this messageboard have sponsored a player under the name of whichever board they were using at the time. That’s not a bad record!
We don’t have the new season’s prices yet, but I’m sure it will be at least the £850 we paid for the season just gone. When I find out the exact amount, I’ll add it to this post. As most will know, we’ve been sponsoring Glen Rea’s away shirt for the last couple of seasons; whether that option will be available to us again remains to be seen, but that’s another detail we can sort out in due course. I have received an alternative suggestion already!
Most importantly, anyone and everyone who’d like to be involved is welcome – past contributors and new ones, regular posters, Bobberman players and lurkers. Everyone contributes as much as they can afford, £5, £10, £50 or even more… It all helps us reach the total we need. And as someone has already said, the Club need our money more than ever at the moment.
Everyone who contributes to the sponsorship, whatever the amount, has an equal chance of being the person drawn out to enjoy one of the benefits (in normal times these are: an invitation to watch one of the team’s training sessions, a ticket to the end of season dinner, and our player’s shirt at the end of the season). We also get name-checks in the matchday programme, on the relevant player page on the official site, and over the PA if our player scores a goal at a home game.
How to contribute
Because of the constraints we’re all operating under, it would be really helpful if you could transfer the money electronically in one of the following 2 ways:
- PayPal: If you have a PayPal account, you can make a contribution via hatter28’s PayPal account markstephenson237@hotmail.com and he’ll then pass on the whole amount he collects. When making your payment, select the “family or friends” option to avoid PayPal charging any fees.
- BACS: If you do online banking, post on this thread or send me a PM so that I can send you the details of a little-used bank account I have which is very handy for collecting contributions such as these. I won’t post the details online but will be delighted to send them to you on request.
If you don’t do electronic finance, then read on:
- Cheque: if all else fails then please write a cheque made payable to Luton Town 2020 Ltd. Please also write “LTFCFool Sponsorship” on the back of the cheque. If this is your preferred method let me know and I will PM you my address to send it to.
- I usually manage to collect a fair amount in cash by doing the rounds pre-season but for obvious reasons that’s not going to work this year. If none of the 3 methods above meet your needs and you still want to contribute, let me know and I’m sure we can work something out.
If you’ve transferred or posted things to me previously and still have those details, I can confirm that none of them have changed.
Finally, thank you so much, everybody, for continuing to make these efforts a success. Here’s to seeing LTFCFool on the list of sponsors again next season.
