Tomorrow "Town" travel to Lancashire to play "Rovers" at Ewood park. After the last three games the best outcome would be for us to get a clean sheet against an established Championship team. And lets hope rather than finding "4,000 holes in Blackburn Lancashire" we find a couple of holes in the Rovers defence and score!! Blackburn is too far for me to get to in one day from Norfolk so will unfortunately miss this one. If you're going have a good day. COYH!!
Blackburn Trivia. Ex Luton player and manager Mike Newell scored, at the time, the fastest ever hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League for Rovers. Netting his three goals against Rosenborg in only nine minutes
Blackburn Celebrity Fan. Jim Bowen the long time host of the game show Bullseye. " You can't beat a bit of Bully!'

Before they were filled in, most of the 4,000 holes were Blackburn fans. They used to congregate, almost invisibly, on the terrace and sing ‘Hole Lotta Luv’, whenever the home net bulged. Which it won’t tomorrow.

Sorry I'll get my coat.

I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday. For the first time this season I felt Luton had some shape. Pele's re-introduction made a difference as he challenged players in midfield --nne of this backing off and then backing off some more. In the second half Potts hardly missed a thing and some of his headers were decidedly decisive. Sluga had the best game I've seen him play --and he was communicating with his defence! Even Izzy Brown was playing for the team. Long journey but worth it!

I thought Brown did as much as anyone to unpick Hull's defence last week, so I can understand GJ trying him again, but with a far stronger midfield behind him. With the ambitious formation at QPR we were just pushing our luck too much.
We've won our last three league games that Butterfield has started, so he should be the first midfielder on the team sheet now.
And how priceless is Collins to us? And not just in a transfer market which values Vassell at £3M. In terms of £s earned for the club as a % of £s cost, he must be one of the best signings we've ever made.

Amen to both the above posts! For the first 15mins, we were under the cosh, lots of back-pedalling, looking nervous and indecisive. Then, crash bang wallop - a great attack, good cross from Izzy? and a header from Collins of which a former Blackburn and England striker would have been proud. Suddenly, the body language changed, the old Pelly returned, along with the confidence and commitment. A brief return to standing off/indecision led to a deserved equaliser.
But in the second half, the grit returned. Only ‘moan’ would be re Izzy’s apparent physical commitment. As Shady said, in Collins, we have one of our best ever signings - goals apart, his work in chasing back and organising the defensive midfield is outstanding. If Izzy managed half of that work rate, especially when he loses possession, he will win over a lot more fans. Having got himself booked, GJ sensibly removed Izzy for McManaman.
Agree with Rutland about the shape of the team as well.
After the disappointing Hull game, it would be marvellous if we could play as well on Wednesday night and grind out a win before a full house.
Well done Graeme Jones, and well done that enormous back room staff and all the players. COYH!

I agree Shady, in the first half against Hull last week until he ran out of fuel, Izzy looked to me to be the player capable of unlocking the Hull defence. To my mind, GJ at this non-premier league, non-Belgian National side level, has to accept that most of the players at his disposal won't be as versatile as the top quality guys he has worked with. Therefore he needs to keep things simple and play players in the positions that are best suited to them i.e. Izzy just behind the front two strikers; the No 10 role. Considering the lack of game time due to injuries over the last couple of years & as GJ says, he is still regaining full fitness, I reckon we could have a real ace on our hands with Izzy. Also, at 22 he has still to learn the covering defensive side of his game but with good coaching that should come. I feel it’s been quite a learning process for GJ especially with wanting to be overly creative in midfield but maybe he is learning that we need a touch more of the defensive qualities in that area; to that end, lets hope that the long-serving Pelly can have a great season. An on-form Pelly & Tunnicliffe could maybe be the key to our season.
