In at the deep end when Town travel to Nottingham tomorrow afternoon, it's been raining for hours there and the Trent is getting higher and higher. Match might be in danger of being postponed? Luton are without Mads Anderson who is out long term with an injury picked up against Spurs, on the plus side Osho is back in contention for the first time this season. Three away games and home to Liverpool before the next International break so points could be hard to come by, but you never know! COYH!! Forest Trivia. Recently retired England cricketer Stuart Broad is a big "Trees" fan.

I bet I wasn't the only one who had written that game off at 2 - 0. What a comeback and what a result.
Forest dominated for most of the game but it all changed at 2 - 0 when Luton looked the better team.
Difficult to be critical after that but for me a couple of players didn't perform. Chong is featherweight, running constantly into trouble and Brown hasn't put a performance in probably since his debut. Adebayo, showed that he is a far bigger threat. Barkley showed more than his previous appearances and we need to see more of Townsend.
Another centre back bites the dust and I hope Burke is not out for long although today he was seriously exposed to a very swift winger who was a constant threat.
Easy this Premier lark, well clear of the bottom three.

Other than that I agree with you.

All the elements of a memorable awayday, really. Packed and cancelled trains, extensive flooding, slight will-it, won't-it uncertainty about the game going ahead. I've probably not got much to tell you about the game itself that you don't know already. It looked like being one of those days, to be honest. Loads of effort from us, being glad to get to half-time at 0-0, a dodgy start to the 2nd half, and then conceding a second. I think most of us, if we're being honest, had this one down at that point as a plucky defeat. Then I don't think I was imagining the ripple of surprise in the Forest fans when one of our subs was announced as Andros Townsend (no reason why they should be paying attention to our out-of-window signings, more a case of "a Luton player we've actually heard of and who's quite decent" ) Anyway, the subs made a difference, Chieo's goal I first saw on the highlights as my view was blocked by the chatty steward at the end of the row (young chap, said he was an Arsenal fan, didn't know much about our history until he was educated by me and the bloke behind on the 30 points song and, to give him his due, then clapped when we scored!). Once we had the goal back, I think our fans and our players all believed we could get another, and step up Eli..... If he wasn't equally capable of a wonderful bit of skill and missing the easy one and produced the skill every time I guess we'd have sold him by now for £30 million plus... Felt like a win, luckily put me in a very good mood which survived getting back to the station to discover the St Pancras train cancelled. With one an hour and not much confidence about the next one I got the Peterborough train and there had a stroke of luck catching a very late-running LNER train full of chastened Palace fans back into London. I think Luton fans who stayed to celebrate in Nottingham in expectation of travelling later may have had real difficulty as the service seemed to be falling apart. Also to say the City Ground isn't one that's fallen victim to the PL tourist epidemic and has a great atmosphere. The Forest fans really do get behind their team; Mull of Kintyre's an odd one but they give it a lot of welly. All-in-all a very good day out

All-in-all a very good day out Thanks Dawn a day in the life of a Luton Town supporter much appreciated. Liked your decision to catch the Norwich bound East Midlands service to Peterborough a very shrewd move.. A few weeks ago my son sent me a message saying "Dad Luton have signed Ross Barkley!" A bit like the Forest fans when they heard that Andros was coming on! Hope to catch up with you at Villa next Sunday with the weather and the trains being more kind.

All-in-all a very good day out Thanks Dawn for your post, which brought a good read to the match thread not usually covered. My away days now are 'virtual' and the crowd atmosphere is limited to muted pitchside microphones. What a relief you made it home the same day and possibly putting yourself through that in the Midlands again this coming Saturday. You're a hero. ' Mull of Kintyre', what's the history of that for an English team, Anybody?

Thanks Dawn, glad you made it home - after failing to board at St Pancras due to dangerous overcrowding, I was able to peep at some of the game via a dodgy stream. From what I could surmise, we were deserving of our point based on the post-sub-introduction (PSI 😂) phase of the game.
Seemed to me to underline the following -the entire squad will feature this season - Barkley’s many detractors may have spoken too soon - Never underestimate Ade - Edwards knows his players and can intervene well - Townsend may well stay with us for the season - there is no shortage of determination
COYH! Warning - prepare for our goal difference to take a battering in the coming weeks, hope I’m very wrong 🤞🤞🤞

Liz, Mull of Kintyre was released 1977, Forest won the league in 1978 so adopted the song, changed the words about mist rolling in form the Trent and about travels up and down the country. Got from Nottingham Live on Google.
