Away to the Biscuit Men tonight with I believe a point securing a Play Off position. It may not come tonight as they will be fighting tooth and nail to get out of the bottom three. I hope apart from his goal threat that Andy Carroll doesn't add more injuries to our back three. Hope those going see a good game and come back with a positive result. COYH!!
No Trivia from me this time but as usual if you have some nuggets post them up. 👍

Very good Liz! Just to add that Reading Museum contains an excellent model of the Huntley and Palmers factory and a replica of the Bayeux Tapestry - one in the eye for the town’s detractors. And many years after Oscar Wilde was on the inside, Bansky did his stuff on an outer wall of the prison, worth a Google search. I’m heading to the game later anc am hoping for yet another win.

Fact Check ALERT of a Fact Check ALERT
Season 1963-64
August 11th 1963, Reading 1 - 1 Luton
Team: Baynham, Bramwell, Davies, Fincham, Jardine, Morton, Pacey, Salisbury, Turner, Walden, Daniel
Source: Luton Town Football Club, The Full Record Compiled: Roger Wash and Simon Pitts.
Ronald (Ron) Tudor DAVIES
Ron joined Chester as a £3 a week groundstaff boy and reputedly trained in army boots to improve his already prodigious leaping skills. The Hatters took a £10,000 gamble on the 20 year old in October 1962 and he rewarded them with 21 goals in 29 League appearances as a poor Luton side sunk to Division Three. In September 1963 a £35,000 bid from Norwich, against whom Ron had scored six goals the previous season, had to be accepted and his career then went from strength to strength taking in Southampton, Portsmouth and Manchester United along the way. One of the best headers of a ball the game has ever seen, Ron moved to the USA and passed away in Albuquerque in 2013.

Oh Steve, the reason I remember it was I was there and remember theorising how much RD would be sold for with some Reading fans. We thought upward of £50k and was surprised when Norwich only paid £35k for him. Back in those days between 3 and 5 of us travelled all over the Country in a friends new Mk II Jaguar, we even did Torquay and Colchester for evening games. Wasn't only football, various dog tracks, horse racing venues and motor sport were all on our agenda. Those were the days.

You're correct Liz. 👍 He must have gone very soon after that game as he only played three games for us that season. Thought he might have gone in the close season following our relegation.

The funniest thing I saw last night was prior to the corner which led to, as the commentator described, 'the hand of god' moment was Campbell with his arm around Carroll's waist. Reading demonstrated that they are probably ready and equipped for league 1 or beyond with probably the worst performance I've seen this season.
My MoM was possibly Cody Drameh but I thought Freeman looked class when he came on and hopefully we can see more of him.
That's the play-offs achieved, let's hope for a fully fit squad available.

Great to see Clark back, he almost managed to help us win the game late on. Agree with Liz that Drameh was excellent. Opponents apart, the game was a useful dress rehearsal for the POff final as Reading’s pitch is the same size as Wembley! Congrats to the squad and staff on effectively securing consecutive top six finishes and also to the fans - another great turnout from us

Sorry, Liz, but I cannot agree with Reading's performance being as bad as you describe. I'd rather believe that we didn't allow them time/space to do very much to hurt us after we decided to turn up at about 8.30pm - the tide changed at that point and we dominated possession and chances.
Yet we were undone by one GK kicking error by Horvath, from which they scraped the corner that led to their goal.
It felt slightly odd watching us dictate a game rather than having to scrap over morsels up front and repel attacks at the back. TBH, I haven't felt like we had such complete control of a game's destiny since the away match at PNE. Yet, somehow, we managed to slaughter the opposition 1-1 in both of those games!
Watching Nakamba last night - what a fabulous signing. He could be the player that makes the difference for us in the POs ... not by creating but by suffocating and stifling the opposition moves before they start.
My main concerns for the POs is our central defence with three CBs out just at the wrong time. Bradley has done okay for the last two games but that was against lower half teams. Monday's match vs Boro will give us a more realistic view of whether a patchwork defence can withstand a potent forward line.
COYH.
