Seems a long time since the Sunderland match hopefully the players will be refreshed and raring to go! Last time we played the Hornets at home was behind closed doors so many years since a full house M1 Derby at Kenilworth Road. Hope we all have a safe journey with the trains and buses a bit messed up. See you at the ground or at the Bar! COYH!! Watford Trivia. Luton won this game 0-1 goal scorer Mike Keen. The goalkeeper for them that day Mike Walker went on to manage Norwich City who he took into Europe winning a famous victory against Bayern Munich.

I remember that game and the fervour that accompanied it! Agree that ‘it seems ages’ since the last game, perhaps because of all the time we’ve had to ponder our current position and the very real chance of the playoffs and all that that may bring. Enjoy if you’re going, am away so not able to attend. Here’s hoping we emerge both victorious and injury/card free!

Everyone spoke of Jeremy Goss's volley as the goal of the 20th century,.it was.pretty special to be fair.

Certainly not trivia. Copied and pasted from 'Outlaws' an authoritative history of the rivalry between Luton and Watford as posted by RADSB of the 'Straw Plaiters' and 'Hatter's Heritage' websites:
Although only formed in 1898, there was a rivalry between Luton and Watford clubs before this. In 1891 West Herts gained a lucky 4 3 win at Dallow Lane. In the last minute a Luton header went through the posts and hit the fans behind the goal as there were no nets. The ref saw the ball bounce out and West Herts kick the ball away. The "goal" which would have levelled the score, was not allowed. The ref was jostled after the match and later admitted he had made an error disallowing the goal. Nevertheless Watford newspapers crowed -
10th December 1891 Luton News football column said “A Watford contemporary gives vent to his feelings to the recent match between Luton and West Herts in a manner the reverse of creditable. Nothing can possibly be gained by indulging in ill-natured gibes and sneers, and surely it is not worth while to go out of the way to stir up bad feeling between the supporters of the different clubs. The least a critic can do is to refrain from any attempt to degrade a friendly game and a manly sport by the introduction of bad blood.”
And so it began.

What a game! If we had scored 6 it wouldn't have adequately shown the superiority Luton had over a lamentable Watford XI.
There were a number who deserved 9's for performance, for me I couldn't separate Lockyer and Osho for MoM but Pelly, Bell, Morris, Adebayo, Drameh and Marvelous were up there with them.
Those watching ifollow must have been impressed with Simon's co-commentator Wayne Turner, invite him back any time Simon.

I taught Wayne Turner English. Lovely lad. As to the footy; Music and I had a Watfraud supporter with us and she said afterwards she'd forgotten what it was like to be in a crowd where the players, supporter, back room staff etc were all demonstrably part of one Club and it hadn't been like that at her Club since her school days (she's early 30s now). I talked about our recruitment policy and how we looked for certain characteristics as well as talent to which her comment was that the culture at Luton was very different to that at Watfraud. Low and behold their manager in his post match interview talked about their need for a culture change! And, despite all that, or more likely because of it, we were the better team.

Great performance from the lads, they nearly scored from the corner taken in the 64th when the crowd celebrated Luton Loyals life as a Town supporter. One downside the idiot or idiots who set off flares during the game, hope we don't get sanctioned for it.

I hope the idiot(s) who set of the flares are caught and banned for the rest of the season!

If caught & banned it should be for much longer than just this season.

Unfortunately Simon gets little input on who joins him, that's down to the club generally although I know various people have said they are always happy to join him when available & get in contact with him about it.
