This seems to happen a little earlier every year, but information about the End-of-Season dinner has just landed in my inbox. As kit sponsors, we are entitled to one complimentary ticket, and since, like last year, we collected in excess of the required amount for this year's sponsorship we have just enough to purchase a second ticket. Therefore 2 of this season's contributors will be able to attend. The dinner will be on Tuesday 9th May 2023 at the Auction House, Luton, and will be attended by Rob Edwards and the coaching staff plus first team & youth team players. Additional tickets cost £95 (20% off for Diamond ST holders, I believe) and will be going on general sale next Wednesday 1st March, so it would be to our advantage to organise ourselves before then. So as not to waste time drawing out loads of names of people who can't attend, and also so as not to rely on people actually reading this lengthy post , over the next day or so I'll be sending a PM to all this year's contributors to gauge interest, and will then make the draw from those actually in a position to go. However, if you do read this feel free to pre-empt me (and save me a little work!) by posting below or PM-ing me to let me know you've seen it and if you would be interested in being in the draw. If you are interested and in the event of being successful would also want to purchase an additional ticket to bring a friend/partner with you, please mention that as well.Oh, and if anyone would like to purchase a ticket (in the event of not being successful in the draw) to be on the same table as part of the Fools group, let me know that as well. All the above by midday Tuesday if you possibly can, to enable me to order the required number of tickets all in one go. I think that covers all eventualities. Thanks, everyone!

Great work Dawn, please don't include me in the draw this year ... if I contributed, I think I did or was that last year? Keith

Noted, shady & bms, and those who've responded by PM. There's still time to let me know, as I'll be doing the draw tomorrow afternoon some time. I have an independent neutral person lined to do it for me

Sorry to keep you all waiting; I did sort this out yesterday but haven't had the chance to post since then.
Thanks to everyone who expressed an interest in being in the draw for places at the dinner. I asked a couple of the attendees at the warm space I help to run on Tuesdays to assist me by doing the draw; they couldn't have been more impartial as they had very little idea what I was talking about, but they dutifully pulled 2 names out: these were mightylutonman and gubsilsoe, with whom I will be in touch

Very luckily I'd taken the precaution of getting my helpers to draw a reserve name, to whom I have now turned, in the nick of time to beat the deadline of submitting menu choices! The reserve was Curlz, who is absolutely delighted to now be attending along with gubsilsoe.

I asked Curlz to let me have his highlights from the dinner to post on here, and he's responded more promptly than I could possibly have expected. Here they are in his words.... Both Gabe Osho and Ethan Horvath were on our table. My first observation was how quite and unassuming Horvath was. I thought he actually seemed in awe of Gabe Osho, who I might add never stopped smiling the entire night. A great kid and so popular - we picked a diamond with him!
Rob Edwards quite rightly praised NJ; that didn't go down well with everyone, but he told them off. He said me and my team fell straight into the Luton way and felt right at home - a few tweaks here and there and we were off like a rocket (*this comes across better with a rocket emoji which I can't reproduce!) . He is so proud of our boys - it sounded like he really is an emotional fella. He was full of praise for the Legend as well. And a good-looking chap to boot
We have a very young set-up at the Kenny apart from the docs etc, but without doubt the pretty much perfect mix...
David Moss came onto the stage to a rapturous welcome.
One of my all-time favourite players, Pelly, what can I say, he looked like a wine waiter - purple jacket, gold-rimmed dark shades, looked like he belonged on the set with Kojak and Huggy Bear . Really did play the part and went down great with the audience.
I listened intently to Sonny Bradley who talked a lot of sense, but was shocked when he said "this will be my final season with Luton". There were literally gasps from the audience.
Lockyer was a star - funny, good talker, spilling the beans on certain players - Admiral for one who didn't want to buy into our jokey kind of ethos but came around and now fits in. He praised all our kids. He was hero-worshipped.
Carlton Morris and Elijah were like a double act - kept potting each other!
Clem (Mark Clemmit) was the same as always, typical Smoggy, right to the point, no mincing around.
Nakamba was loved by everybody and always had a quick quip, but a tad shy. All in all a wonderful group of humble players not trying to climb above their station.
One thing really stuck in my mind: Clem asked RE "can you go all the way?". After about 3 seconds RE replied "of course we can". Which got a huge cheer; everyone sang "We've got super Robbie Edwards" and "one Mickey Harford".
Curlz also said Gubsilsoe looked after him very well and has excellent taste in wine . It sounds like a great evening was had by all.
