The Town travel to Teeside to take on a rejuvenated Boro side. It's Rob Edwards first match in charge since the departure of NJ, and it will be a tough one for him as Michael Carrick has turned Boros fortunes round since his arrival in October. We still have significant defensive problems with key players out through injury. For those traveling, for whom this will be our last Saturday 3pm kick off of the year, much respect and get those thermals on!! COYH!! For Trivia over to you.

There’s only one 'o' in Middlesbrough. When applying for the status of a Municipal Borough in 1853, the town clerk misspelled the town's name, dropping one 'o' from Middlesborough.

Yes, well done to those travelling, be interesting to see the outcome of our first game 'Under New Management'. Hopefully Burke (remember him?) will partner the much travelled Lockyer in defence. A possible period of uncertainty for our club ahead, hope I'm wrong. C'mon Luton, C'mon England!

I'm afraid I won't be adding to my 5 Middlesbrough visits (4 at Ayresome Park and once at the Riverside) due to ongoing health issues.

Seems like nobody has much to say about a, to be honest, an uninspiring game. Anyway, there is only a point difference between a loss and a draw and it never was going to be a win.
Talking points were few, the idiot Bell, the total lack of goal attempts, the height in our defence, where's Burke? not even mentioned in the announcements on injuries, strange.
Any players worth a mention, just about. Clark was industrious but also at times invisible. Pelly was solid and Lockyer, despite a couple of potential dangerous errors, was ok.
I can't make my mind up regarding Doughty, what is he, certainly not a defender, not a winger, an old fashioned left half perhaps. He's got talent and certainly adds something, at times.

Thanks for comments Liz. Maybe Dawn will post something when she’s thawed out. Assume those of you that got a stream were using a VPN to access Ifollow international coverage- would be grateful for the know how if possible. Followed game by text only so in no position to make judgements but Wimbo’s comments re Bell being on a yellow and under pressure do appear valid - why didn’t Edwards intervene? The currently small gap this season between bottom and 3rd places suggest an unseemly scrap at both ends of the table at the end of the season, I very much hope we can remain clear of danger.

I've just about thawed out and getting on with scoring the Cup, but I'll break off for a few impressions:
1) It was cold. 2) Kind of admire Middlesbrough for opting to have a pre-kick-off light show even though it wasn't dark. 3) It was a game of fairly fine margins and first half especially we were decent. Jordan Clark's goal was a thing of beauty. The balance of play is probably best summed up by the fact that I was sitting level with the 18-yard line: we were kicking towards the other end in the first half, and I spent both halves with my head turned to the right....
4) I'm not sure Isaiah Jones has stopped rolling yet from his slight coming-together with Bell that led to the 2nd yellow. I'm not surprised Bell was furious.
5) He (Jones) rolled past the away fans after coming off at that side of the pitch on being substituted late on. They were happy to let him know he was a cheating so-and-so and his grin back at us suggested he agreed.
6) Middlesbrough station has a very nice coffee shop. Darlington station is the coldest place outside the Antarctic.
7) Did I mention it was cold?
