..... What we achieved last season would be an incredible Feat, And I'm not talking about 5th / 4th or 3rd place. I'm Positive Nathan believes he has assembled a side capable of getting us to the promised land. I had £120 riding on The Hatters getting into the Top Six last season, unfortunately I had them in a double with QPR ( More fool me ). I will be having another bet before the season starts but I will not be having a double this time. I know first or second is a huge ask but it is by no means impossible, especially with the belief we have within the team all the way up to the top with 2020. Scattercash merchants we are certainly not, but I do believe however that we have been very wise in our dealings so far, and spending within our means. I fully expect a few parting of the ways very soon, Maybe 74 hit the Nail on the head when he mentioned that we may well see a bid for Eli coming in, it certainly would not surprise me, though I would prefer to keep things as they are. A top 8 spot would not be a bad season, But I genuinely believe we can go the extra yard and get Promoted, I wonder, what do the rest of You Guys think, Mid table, top 8, promotion ? I would love to hear... Cheers Curlz.....

For me what is important is a delta increase each season in performance which will ultimately achieve the promotion. I don`t see us achieving it this season though.

If we finish top ten I'll be happy, but ecstatic if ending 5th or above - a further progression under Nathan Jones, finishing in a higher league position each season under his management!
Tall order though.
It is my belief that had we not suffered such injuries to our team last season, we would have at least reached Wembley in the Play Off Final. To actually do that this coming season would be a fantastic campaign again.
I just hope we do not miss Naismith too much and can keep Elijah.

Seasons seem to have a life of their own. Look at poor old Barnsley. Their supporters must have been expressing sentiments similar to those above. There are too many critical variables in professional football compared to the local version. The woodwork, referees, linesmen’s eyesight, injuries, the opposition’s form, great goalkeeping and so on all conspire to determine where in the division a club will operate. If we hang on to Elijah Adebayo I would say we’ve had a good summer but I wouldn’t use it to predict the winter. It’s all in the lap of the gods.

On paper I would expect us to score more goals this year. We had two decent strikers in Adebayo and Cornick but now have 4 with Woodrow and Morris. Both the new strikers are different types to Adebayo and Cornick. The goalie coming in will hopefully help defensively so if we can stop them one end we should be playoff contenders. The only thing that worries me is the 352 tactic we used last year. Naismith was key to bringing the ball out and creating. With him gone and no quality central defensive midfielder I think we will need to change the style a little. That said other clubs haven't strengthened massively. For me given the financial resources the relegated 3 from the prem will be most likely to take the automatic spots. I definitely think we are better equipped this season but last season felt like a free hit. This year teams may well work us out so let's hope NJ has a plan.

Tend to agree MK think we'll miss Naismith, how we could do with another KDH! Sometimes I have to pinch myself when we talk about our rise from Non League to the Championship Play Offs.

KDH was a Rolls Royce of a midfielder! Shame we couldn't have seen more of him live. It's fantastic how far we've come and the boundaries we are pushing.

Obviously replacing KDH is completely out of the Question, but I was wondering who could do the job of Naismith, Burke possibly or could Snoddy do it, or give Gabe Osho a bash at it. Or as MKhat said change our tactics slightly... ?

Or as MKhat said change our tactics slightly... ? Did think we might go 433 to get our wingers more involved CMG for instance. NJ said he is after another defender so looks like we are sticking with 352. We need a ball playing defender ideally. Someone who is comfortable stepping out and dictating play. Very hard to find on our budget but we will hopefully use a bit of magic and find someone.
