Pleasantly surprised that Kioso had a years option, rightly exercised by the club - thought he'd be franchise-bound on a free. Glad Isted and Berry are with us another season. Fair play to Jerome and Hylton for earning contracts/talks, but do we really need them both? Kioso, I hope will become a great player for us, not sure his best position but strong and good in the air, with Nathans encouragement could be long term part of our future and become an automatic selection.

Why I am fairly relaxed about the departure of Naismith:
Firstly it's easy to understand that a player having turned 30 and having had a bit of a journeyman history, would be keen to rake in some serious money as the player's earnings years dwindle. Can’t blame him and I hope it works out for him.
Secondly, pre-Luton he was a utility player who could fill a number of positions; it’s at Luton where he really was used by NJ as a CB that he really blossomed: maybe the magic needs that NJ/KN combination; we will see.
Thirdly IMO his form really dipped post-Bournemouth last-minute winner yet our team progressed despite his dip in form: he was trying to be Kaldini rather than a decent CB it seems.
Finally, I would have been more concerned had we lost Burke (our best CB IMO) or the fast progressing Osho.
Players come and players go. The departure of Kal will give hopefully more openings for the speedy Osho and Kioso.

Agree with that Bill, especially your first sentence.

Took me a while to warm to him but he became a part of our success last season. I didn’t like the digs at Nathan and the club but who wouldn’t leave for more money towards the end of your career? I think we may well be in for more surprises like this one?

As stated in the shout box I'm personally gutted at losing our best (IMO) player, but it is totally understandable the reasons why he and his AGENT have got this move. Modern football players and especially their Agents, try to get as many moves as possible for their 'clients' to enable them to get their cut. Bristol City have given him a 3 year deal and more than doubled his wage! Sadly, while still at the dilapidated low capacity KR, we simply can never compete or match other clubs in this league with their massive budgets. I've noticed on social media platforms not for the first time, many Hatters now slating him and other players as soon as they leave leave LTFC. I'm not one of them. In his short 16 month stay with us I thought Kal was magnificent...........every club he has played for including Rangers as a youngster, Acc Stanley, Portsmouth and Wigan - their fans all liked and rated him................but no player or manager individual is bigger than the club and we move on.

For me, I appreciate he wanted more money, but it is the disrespect he and Bristol City have shown to LTFC that is the issue. The comments he has made are both nonsensical and sickening. Under Nigel Pearson, B City are only going in one direction, and it’s the opposite to that we are travelling under NJ and 2020. But at least he will have his money to count as he contemplates how the final years of his career could have gone.

Unfortunately not unexpected it's basically been the same throughout his career, run down contract and make the move for more money whenever possible.

I agree that the manner and timing of the announcement by City is very poor. Naismith did put a much better post on Instagram, saying how fantastic the club and fans have been, which was posted elsewhere. I think it was on Facebook, which can't be copied and pasted to other fora.

Bristol City's way of announcing it was disrespectful, certainly, but that wasn't Naismith's fault. I also don't blame him going, either. I doubt we were offering him 3 years and at 30, and with a young family, he has to think to the future. To us, LTFC is a passion, the be all and end all, but for the players it is a place of work and football how they make their living. Some of our players clearly enjoy being with us and identify as "Lutonians" whether they are literally so or not. However, they all must put their careers and livlihood first. In Naismith's case, it is clearly his livlihood as his career would blossom more under NJ!

See we're being linked with Jack Rudoni from AFC Wimbledon. They had an awful season but he did well - top scorer, player of the year. Fits our young and hungry profile...
