Enjoyable game and entertaining only spoiled by heavy handed OOT policing after the game about 30 police and two police horses at the far end of Maple Road ffs.held up for 15 minutes WHY? A very large officer when I approached with my walking stick let me through flattie. Best ever at getting out of the church car park and north up Dunstable Road.

Agree the police in maple road were a disgrace. No reasoning to block all the roads. A lot of anger from Luton supporters who were unjustly held back from getting home.

That's two home games against London clubs (QPR/Millwall) in a row with completely OTT policing from the Met. Horses, Dogs the works. I know there is history involving both, but why oh why are 9,000 Luton fans prevented from going home by blocking ALL roads outside the ground post match for an age - instead of keeping the 1,000 odd London fans in the Oak Road stand for that time! As for the match, a fair result. Millwall were the better side 1st half and we were 2nd. Stand outs for me were Potts (my MOTM), Lansbury, Naismith, Campbell............and sorry to upset some but our Marmite player was hopeless. I always used to stick up for Pelly, but in my honest OPINION he is simply not good enough at this 2nd tier level. I previously used to be glad whenever he signed a new contract..............again sorry to his faithful, but if and when he leaves, again IMHO we will not miss him now.

If you went down Hazelbury Crescent and across Sainsburys car park towards the station, there was no hold-up at all - Bury Park was clearer than usual. I was expecting to be dodging Millwall fans at the station, but I caught the 17:43 and they still hadn't arrived by then, so it looked like they were held back too. Which makes it odd that they didn't let all the Luton fans disperse quickly...

Millwall worked as hard as we did so there was never gong to be a lot between the teams. That noted, if the referee had given just half of the free kicks that we see other Championship officials give, let alone flashed his yellow card at anyone, then we would have had an advantage that may (only may) have been significant enough to gain another two points.
Fabulously worked first equaliser. Fortunate second equaliser. But Millwall's goals were highly preventable - both, unfortunately, down to us pressing the self-destruct button whilst decision making. If Bradley is back to fitness (which he must be as he was on the bench and warming up if Potts was unable to carry on after just 3 minutes) then maybe Naismith is better deployed in a midfield holding roll - sadly, he made errors that exposed our defence/GK for both Millwall's goals and, if you want to be ultra analytical, he also shanked a relatively simple cross out for the corner from which QPR scored their winner. If his 'magic' has somewhat worn off following his injury at Boro and with the form of Potts in a back three, try pushing Naismith forward to protect those three from midfield. If nothing else, he would offer some much needed height in that department when playing big teams like Millwall, Cardiff, Boro, etc., especially as I don't think we won a header in midfield yesterday.
One big concern for me if we have serious intent on reaching the POs is our midfield when both Berry and Clark are AWOL. Their cleverness, footballing intelligence, goal threat and positioning means that we can compete in the engine room - flashing the ball directly from back to front as we did for a majority of the first half simply didn't hurt Millwall (well, up until the occasion that we played the ball through midfield and on the ground and scored!) ... in fact it was an event for us to get into or near their penalty area before the goal.
Fully agree with NJ in that he went too safe with the selections and tactics. Whilst we needed some big units in our team to quell the Lions' threat at set pieces, we certainly lost a high degree of fluidity - mind you, that was probably more down to Berry/Clark missing than having a more proactive back line looking to make things happen rather than waiting for them to happen.
Pelly often grows into games and his fitness and power allows him to 'flourish' later in matches. Jetlag/tiredness looked the order of the day for him yesterday - nowhere near his usual energy levels but he did still try ... just that nothing worked out for him. Capped off by his very odd (not to mention disappointing) decision to back-heel a pass directly in front of an opponent when a shot would have been the first choice for everyone else in the ground! Who cares if it gets blocked? A deflection from that shot may still fall for Luton but after two shots in the first half that were (very and then moderately) high and wide, maybe his confidence was lacking. Interesting that he and Adebayo were in deep conversation after Millwall's second goal (which happened about 30 seconds - 1 minute after the back-heel opportunity) and Pelly was immediately subbed.
Team selection and tactics vs Posh will be 'interesting' to say the least.
COYH.

Totally agree about Clark and Berry Proud. Was also surprised Lansbury was mom I was watching him and he seemed to be on the periphery of the game, found space but not really found by his team mates. Think Naismith is better as the left side of three centre backs needs Bradley back in the middle perhaps.

Well it was great to be back at the Kenny after such a long absence, the greetings from all that sit near Jean and I, where simply beautiful, no doubt that it is a great privilege to be part of this wonderful family of supporters...Watching games on T.V. are totally different from watching live, no replays, no slow motion, no commentary etc. I was wearing my lucky pants, good job too I think !...I was puzzled by the team selection, and I feel that when we are down to the bare bones and can just about field a team and bench, we are more likely to put in a fighting performance, as against being spoiled for choice, when the likes of Berry and Clarke, and Kioso seem to be automatically dropped ?...Anyway I was very disappointed by the first 20 minutes or so, we played nothing that resembled good football in my opinion, hopeful clearance headers and hoofs upfield, no build up play what so ever, as against Millwall who played and moved the ball about with purpose, and wasted no time in getting the ball into our penalty area...No surprise when they went 1-0 up...That said, we did show some good spirit, that got the crowd going, and we fully deserved our equaliser, by Adebayo...The first time I have seen him play live !!...for some reason I wasn't over impressed ?...probably because of lack of playbacks etc..But no doubting he can score goals...We looked much better in the 2nd. half and it was disappointing to once again fall behind from poor defensive play...But...we never gave up and deservedly worked hard for the equaliser...2-2 a fair result in my opinion and 4 points off Millwall...can't be bad... Have to say it...but I thought that Pelly had an awful game, nothing clicked for him, I think he slows us down, especially if compared to Berry or Clarke, they would be automatic choices for me, both are good footballers, both give 100% work rate from box to box, and both can score goals...I fail to see why they are side-lined so much ? Potts did so well, I fully expected him to be hauled off...Campbell was solid...a good signing !...Hope we get the result we should do up at Peterborough... What a run in...Play-off's are a distinct possibility and who knows...One day we will win promotion from them !!!

If memory serves, hasn’t Pelly played a number of World Cup qualifing games recently ? International travel is exhausting, especially changing through different climates and time zones. Cut the lad a bit of slack ! COYH

Cut the lad a bit of slack ! COYH Don't think he played Martyn but obviously trained and travelled. Pelly is expected to be at 100% for every second he plays by some. There are mistakes and poor performances in every game by players but Pelly gets an undue amount of abuse. He's got a great attitude, obviously loves being at Luton and nobody but nobody can criticise his attitude both on and off the field. He's black however, is that a problem for some?

I think Pelly is a very good player. He just happened to have an off day, after all he is human. When he plays well we invariably win. What I really like about him is that if things are going wrong and he is playing poorly (extremely rare occurrence) he does not hide. He still wants the ball and takes responsibility. This is a wonderful quality and one that all managers look for in a player. Unfortunately not all players have this strength of character.

I’m fully with the Pelly lovers. He’s just such an important part of the team. Seriously I can’t understand why he gets so much criticism from some. Near me a few weeks ago was a chap giving us all a running commentary on the game. (Mostly ignorant clap trap). Every time Pelly was on the hall he slagged him off, and on one occasion he moaned at Pelly when it was someone else on the ball. Eventually I started expressing my appreciation of Pelly quite loudly. Literally two minutes later this geezer said something like “I’m off out of here” and we haven’t seen him since. Pleased to say.

Just found time to watch the 15 minutes Sky highlights show of our game vs Millwall.
Two things from that:
1) Harry should have scored to put us ahead when virtually one-on-one - it wasn't so evident to me on the day from my seat but that was one heck of a chance and their GK didn't really have to do anything to save it as it was hit straight at him.
2) Must say that I was really disappointed with Eli's lack of movement (possibly more a lack of anticipation) when Campbell robbed the ball from Cooper on the goal line and desperately needed a team mate to make himself available on the near post. Recall Michael Owen saying that Benteke's usual runs when he was at Liverpool meant that he was, effectively, 'hiding' behind defenders and had very little chance of getting to the ball first: he always favoured the far post run no matter which side of the pitch the attack was coming down. Compare that to the near post run that earned Hylton his goal at Stoke. TBH, it's not the first time that Adebayo has opted to run towards the centre of the goal or far post when Cornick, Bree or Clark have had very decent opportunities to fire into the near post. Eli is still learning his craft at this level but it would be good to see him attacking the near post more often. Playing between the sticks rather than wide would help with that!
Still a decent point given the opposition's recent form.

Crowd violence as far as Millwall is concerned is nothing new. I read some time ago that the "Old Den" was closed due to the violence 5 times before 1919... First recorded football hooliganism involving Millwall was in the 1930s.
