The Hoops come to Kenilworth Road tomorrow at high noon without a win in six matches, we on the other hand are in top form. Who'd have thunk it we could be fourth in the League come two o'clock tomorrow afternoon, as Sir John Still said though "never too high never too low". Whoever gets my seat hope you see a great game. COYH!
Any QPR trivia would be welcome. 👍

Looking back for a comfortable home win haha, 3-2 season 81-82 against the 10 man and cup finalists after skipper Glen Roeder sent off for second bookable offence on 32 mins, this match came after a famous Friday night 4-1 home victory over Shrewsbury to clinch promotion and then a 2-1 away win at Stamford Bridge. Our scorers on the day Hill, White and Moss penalty thus completing the double over Rangers that season , great memories.

Today will be my 1,918th Hatters game attending and the 1,245th at Kenilworth Road.
I have seen us play the R's 22 times at the shrine from 1971 -2007. A pretty good record of 10 Town wins, nine draws and just 3 defeats - but those three losses - all came in the last 3 league clashes I watched!
Let's hope my excellent recent record of attending six successive Luton league victories continues & becomes 7 by 2pm...............though my heart says 1-0 I have a feeling ( naturally I want to be incorrect) that my head might be right with 1-2 - Sorry!
I haven't got time to post all the 22 clashes, but the difference in attendances is pretty staggering. The best was 22,024 for a 1-1 Div 2 draw in 1971 when John Ryan scored for us. The lowest (excluding two friendlies) was a mere 6,735 for a top flight Div 1 clash in 1988 - a couple of reasons it was so low was A) our ludicrous and hated Evans politically led Membership/away fan ban scheme and B) Expense, in the days when a majority of the crowd were not Season Ticket holders - it was our 13th home league and cup game of 1988! as well as the cost of two cup runs and three Wembley Luton appearances in the space of just over a month.

Brian Rourke You may recall Brian was subjected to a horrific assault after the QPR game earlier this season. I asked a close family friend for an update on his progress. As Loyal indicated in the shoutbox, it’s not great news- ‘Brian is still unable to work or drive , very frustrating for him and his family not being able to do the things he used to take for granted. He hasn’t been able to go to any games’
Coincidentally, you may also recall that I wrote to both QPR and Luton ticket offices and also to Gary Sweet? I didn’t receive a reply from anyone.
Let’s hope there’s no trouble today as we face one of the bogiest of bogey sides and that Ilias Chair remains seated throughout.

So much ‘if only’ today ( Adebayo’s first half offside? goal, Campbell’s superb second half shot) but the reality is that we have been beaten away and now at home - again- by a better side. Their ball play out of defence was particularly impressive, as was their gradual domination as the game progressed. Everything still to play for though- the ultimate scenario for me would be getting our revenge in the play off final.

Sadly I was royally entertained but we lost. Didn't deserve that and it wasn't helped by a totally inept referee who must have been playing to the TV cameras. Useless doesn't come near to doing him justice.
The sponsors selected Jerome as man of the match, not for me. My selections were either Campbell or Lansbury. Campbell because he never stopped, like a terrier snapping at legs and powered on lithium rather that lead acid. Lansbury because he was shear class, defending, going forward and passing.
I imagine Luton's substitutions were an attempt to win the game? This time it was to our detriment. Finally, agent Gray had the consideration not to celebrate his goal.

Spot on Liz. I think Pelly having to retire didn't help --we needed his muscle in the middle. Campbell was my man of the match by far. But, as Sunshine says, we were beaten by a better team on the day -- and an inconsistent ref! And finally, all credit to Andre Grey's reaction when he scored.

With regard to Lizard and Rutland's comments about Andre Gray, perhaps he learnt his lesson when he last played at KR.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the punch 5 seconds after the half time whistle blew. I saw it as clear as anything, seemed totally unprovoked; so apparently now punching an opponent is only a yellow card offence.

With regard to Lizard and Rutland's comments about Andre Gray, perhaps he learnt his lesson when he last played at KR. I've read elsewhere on Social Media that Andre Gray's chest beating Ott celebrations for his Watford 'goal' at KR last season, was only aimed at his Manager for playing such a bit part in the side under him.

though my heart says 1-0 I have a feeling ( naturally I want to be incorrect) that my head might be right with 1-2 - Sorry! Thanks to YET another hopeless Referee, we seem to get them at nearly every home game now, I was proven sadly correct. Having seen tv replays of the game (appreciate the officials do not get that luxury), ALL three goals were the wrong decisions. Ours was a handball leading up to it. Andre Gray bought the Naismith challenge and fell over the Scotsmans knee and their second goal was both offside AND a foul on Shea. The disallowed Elijah goal was too tight to call for me. Having written all this, QPR should have been down to 10 men for a punch at the HT whistle. Had we have had VAR in this league, we would be sitting 4th this morning. Never ever thought I'd say this, but after this season I personally want VAR in the Championship now.

I certainly agree that technology should be available to check offside and i think that the law applicable to offside needs to be changed to stop some of these ridiculous decisions relating to the hand or finger being offside. This will take some sensible determining, but perhaps one thought maybe to judge it from the position of the feet, no doubt others will have different ideas. With regards to the "punch" this happened in front of the referee, was clearly seen, the referee failed to apply the law. There is not any excuse for this and he should be suspended. I can accept the fact that officials make mistakes, they are human and players quite frankly make more. However I cannot accept that referees do not referee to the Laws, instead of making up their own interpretations. Since when has it been ok to allow all of this holding and grabbing of shirts. if referees applied the law it would quickly stamp it out. When I retired from playing I took up refereeing for a while until my knee prevented me from doing it. Therefore having done it at a senior local level I appreciate the difficulties for both both refs and linesmen and I take this into account when judging them. However Yesterday the referee let down all of his colleagues and especially young ones starting at the bottom of the ladder by failing to apply the Laws on incidents he clearly saw. Offside can be difficult for linesmen to judge in certain circumstances, especially with the latest interpretations so therefore I can understand why tight decisions are sometimes incorrect when relying on the human eye and the angle from which it is seen.

Sorry can't get the link to work.
The linesman by the boxes is on the pitch, gets hit by the ball, which has been kicked up the pitch by Lockyer, and gives it as a QPR throw.

With regard to Lizard and Rutland's comments about Andre Gray, perhaps he learnt his lesson when he last played at KR. Despite all the goals he scored for us, I never warmed to Gray (not that he or many Town fans will lose any sleep over that- something about his manner on the pitch)
