With regard to Osho, I'm amazed at how versatile someone who is playing his first full Championship season can be. Last week he was tasked with marking Andy Carroll and did an excellent job. This week he had to fill in voids in midfield against Stoke and Derby, both teams with midfields that have vastly more experience ... even if Derby have a 'restricted' squad, their midfield had an £8m signing (Bielik*), Ravel Morrison (ex-Man U and West Ham), Bird and Knight (both sought after players).
Yup, Osho makes mistakes and mis-controls the ball but so did Lockyer (he had to foul Kazim Richards after his worst give away yesterday), as did Bree (with a crisply hit pass directly to Derby player without an orange shirt within 10 yards) and so did Naismith (who bloody nearly got an assist passing to WBA's Grant when he was standing on his own on the penalty spot). Osho has to learn his trade and if he is being asked by the manager to play in midfield and to be a conduit for the defence to bounce passes off him or through him, he WILL make mistakes now and again.
Most of the time that we play tippy-tappy football out from the back it is done with the purpose of drawing the opposition out of shape to create vacated spaces - therefore, it needs players to wait until the very last split second to dispatch the ball to gain most space. Sometimes they will get wrong, get caught out and cough up possession but let's face it, we've forced that upon opposition players lots of times this season ... it's Campbell's speciality, after all! My main gripe about playing tippy-tappy is when we do it across the back line with passes that barely have enough pace/strength to get to the intended recipient! There is nobody except the GK to mop up any back line cock-ups. At least if Osho, Lansbury, Pelly or Campbell mess up in midfield then there should be someone alert behind them to stall a break away.
* With regard to Bielik, I do hope that he managed to get to hospital to get a CAT scan on his head - no matter where he was bumped/kicked, if it interrupted Luton's rhythm (although it's debateable that we had any in the first half) then he laid down and held his head until the referee fell for his antics.
Oh and this:
Super, Super Dan,
Super, Super Dan,

Super Danny Hylton!
