I expect that most of us can remember when supporters were given the chance a few years ago to vote on whether we stuck with orange for the home shirt or reverted to a traditional white shirt. it was back in the days of John Still if I recall correctly. Despite many Directors and Sir John preferring white the Board honoured the result of the vote and stayed with orange.
Well, I am an ardent conspiracy theorist and I believe that last year's red home shirt and this year's, which is only slightly less red, is all part of a plan to get us back to a white home shirt. My thoughts were re-enforced recently when I heard many comments about how good looking our away white shirt was, both this season and last. Consequently, I think that the powers that be are deliberately creating a situation that when they hold another vote, maybe in the early months of next year, there will be enough supporters willing to vote for white shirts rather than continue down the reddish path that we are currently taking. Eric Morecambe must be squirming.
Food for thought.

Fully agree Clappers, sooner we revert to black and white, and maybe white and black away, the happier I and, I suspect more, will be. COYH

I voted for Orange...But it has to be Orange...Not Red !! In the dim and distant past Tony there was a predominantly away shirt red kit but my choice is black and white though perhaps with a touch of orange. Here's a blast from the past but imagine the white shirt stripes in orange and a tad of orange edging around the shorts and socks.

I voted white last time and I did think the white shirts last week looked smart. I love Liz's suggestion, though --send it to the Club!

Are we turning into another SNaziP - keep asking for more referendums until we get what we want?
The pre returning back to the Football League vote in 2014 was voted by a majority - ORANGE - let's stick with that vote eh - please!

I can't remember the exact details of that vote Al but wasn't it weighted to favour certain groups. Am I correct that the ordinary fans voted for black and white?

Sorry Al and this is not a dig at you but I think some have missed my point, which was that I think that the decision makers at the Club are trying to massage opinion, should there be another vote, in favour of white shirts by using reddish shirts that many hate and attractive white versions. That's all Al. I did not start this off to promote having another vote, simply a warning that another one is on its way.

The number of votes cast is interesting where only 600 season ticket holders bothered. And Al, nothing wrong with periodically checking opinions and commercially probably a good idea.

Almost 4,000 fans on the clubs data base voted...as a season ticket holder, I am on that data base...I understand it as 600 diamond ticket holders voted as well ! And if each vote only counted as ONE point, the percentage would have been higher in favour of orange !

Shirt style and colour is a major revenue earner for the club, the more popular a shirt is with the fans the more shirts will be sold. I do prefer the black and white kit (with a white stripe on the side of the black shorts!) but that's probably because I hark back to what the team wore in my youth. As a diamond season ticket holder I usually give my son the "free" shirt, he always asks for the orange version. Which is presumably because thats the colour he's grown up with. So let's remember the colour is important and that the club will go for the kit that sells the most. For years Shanks and Turner sold only the black and white kit, not sure if the club itself had a merchandise shop in the 60s.
