Just thinking today about the possible “new way” of allowing attendance at football matches when it is deemed “sort of safe to do so”.
Let’s say we are in a pre-vaccine time: questions that spring to mind are:_ Travelling any distance on public transport; we have supporters who commute 100’s of miles for a game. When will they feel comfortable to travel?
A pre-match social beer. What will the Brickies or White House look like with social distancing or indeed the Con. Club? All are packed like sardines for just about every pre-match.
Seating arrangements in the ground assuming some degree of social distancing can be supplemented with a facemask: maybe a 25% capacity at the tightly seated Kenny.
If it is limited socially distanced attendance, how will that be allocated?
Will there be an age bar on attendance given that the highest risk of “never ever needing another season ticket” is ast the more elderly of our supporters?
Just my rambling thoughts; any views on returning to football pre a widely available vaccine?
I would be interested to hear the thoughts of other fools.

for those that insist on pre-match drinkies then a LTFC logoed catheter will be available in the Brickies, White House and a Boris blue one in the Con Club.

If social distancing is still 2m then it's one seat in three on one row in 3 so only able to use one ninth of capacity meaning approx 1000 spectators. But hang on a moment cannot use all blocks as still have to seat subs, management, press etc etc as at present so probably down to say 6-700!
Then got to consider getting people in and out of the ground...turnstiles, loos, walkways etc

Seriously, we are all dependent on a vaccine and with a jab there should be a certificate of verification. Not wishing to offend anyone on here but that would kibosh the anti-vax lunatics jeopardising everyone as they would be refused admission.

Sorry, Liz, I'm not a lunatic but don't get the 'flu jam because I am absolutely terrified of needles. It'll have to be on a sugar cube before I'd have it!
As to Wimbo's general points; there will be Government guidance for the Club on how they are to manage things but I suspect facemasks will be required to have the social distancing at 1m rather than 2. I would hope priority for seats goes to diamond ticket holders and those who have had a season ticket for the greatest number of years, plus Curlz!

I seem to remember that there have been vaccines given with a sugar lump.

Pre match drinks on a bench in Moor Path or Wardown Park! Seriously I think a big problem will be the toilet facilities under the main stand, exit and entrance are through the same "door" so how on earth can social distancing take place. Although I dislike driving to a match and would rather use trains I think the car will be the safest bet ATM. I will have to cut down on pre match refreshment's or stay at a hotel overnight. I've heard that attendances would be restricted to 40% of capacity with no away fans so with over 6,000 Season tickets sold already compromise will have to be considered. Will all home games be shown on ifollow?

Polio was given on a suger cube, Liz. I guess the way they give it depends on whether it can be absorbed through the stomach or needs to be absorbed through tissue. And Shatter, I don't fancy either Moor Park or Wardown on a cold December day!

Although according to the guide lines I did not have to be in total lock down isolation I have been quite strict, no shops etc, all delivered.
But if you can sit on a plane then I cant see why we cant go to a football match for 2 hours if we wear a mask. It should be a choice to attend or not. I get the point about toilets and that is a problem at Luton. Roll on the vaccine.

Just my rambling thoughts; any views on returning to football pre a widely available vaccine? I would be interested to hear the thoughts of other fools. The very elderly at risk are generally not the ones who will spread the disease - being more likely to self isolate, - so the risk will tend to be to them, not from them... I think their attendance will be "at their own risk" with masks very much strongly advised at all times. I think the groups of people already bubbled and sitting together could be turned into worthwhile clumps distanced sufficiently from "stranger" groups - with masks included (1 metre = 1 empty chair but in how many directions?) so a crowd will be sparse, but not as sparse as some people are fearing. Getting in and out - and as you say, the pubs and transport, could be the bigger issues. - and then once an approved to be useful vaccine does exist, will you have to provide a certificate to sit in a "vaccinated crowd area"? It's all going to be most intriguing - (and rock concerts are going to be much harder to make worthwhile.)

And the vaccine is unlikely to make you immune, it will simply lessen the symptoms if you get it so you could still be a carrier.

Simple for me, 4 hours on a train no, plus 2 hours on a bus no, age group no, sharing the urinal in the ground no, and that`s without the risk in the stand.

Best if we move to Stadium MK then Lake, cuts out the bus, modern bogs and bags of room for social distancing. Suppose you could lock yourself in the loo on the train.
