Same for me. It is in their interest as well as LTFC.

In response to Loyal's question -- 'Why in these desperate times are you refusing to play YOUR part?' 1. because I don't have to. 2. because I have a contract saying I will be paid. 3. because there is no clause in my contract saying I should take a pay cut. 4. how do you know I am not? 1. because I don't have to. Quite possibly but there again I suspect that some clubs may have real difficulties surviving & players on a long contract may not have a club to return to: I am talking any club in general and not specifically Luton. 2. because I have a contract saying I will be paid. As above for 1 plus lots of staff in the UK on very high wages are taking anything upwards of a temporary 20% pay cut: here I refer to senior managers: source is stock exchange announcements.3. because there is no clause in my contract saying I should take a pay cut. As 2 above but sense suggests for sustainability that a temporary reduction could make sense. I say could as SW19 rightly says we don't know the elements that come together to make the total wage.4. how do you know I am not? In an interview, GS said as a throwaway "now I have to persuade the players to take a pay cut".
Just my thoughts in italic above but like so many things in football, we don't know for definite. Incidentally, I think there is an argument for disclosing transfer fees; I am sure the tax-man knows so why can't the supporters who buy their season ticket for a disclosed amount get to know. I am sure before Sky bought football that clubs used to disclose fees i.e £17.5k if I remember for a certain left back from Fulham who netted a few goals for us a good few years ago. Bill, my comments were somewhat TIC. I was having a go at Loyal for saying he doesn't know anything, then asking a question in a way that indicated he did. In response to your italics however, I agree with your comments, except you now raise another question ----- You quote GS, and i recall the interview and the comment, but again ---- how do you know he hasn't done that??? It was pure speculation, and IMHO trouble making, in the post by Loyal. I think we should leave the management of the club to the club.

I'm very concerned about this. Our owner took a MAJOR substantial wage deferral backdated to March 1st, in solidarity with all the non playing staff who were put on Furlough leave then - yet I have yet to see anything about our 'honest' playing staff accept ANY wage cuts or deferrals - not even 10%. This despite being asked by the club for help. Loyal, could you advise who 'our owner' who took a 'MAJOR substantial wage deferral' is. BTW, is there ever a MINOR substantial???

I believe GS took a 50% pay cut/ deferral, call it what you like, backdated to March 1st Mel. That could possibly be who LL is referring to. Just a wild guess of course.

If you do not know who the owner of LTFC is then what's the point of all this? But in answer to your question it's Gary Sweet who took a 50% wage deferral backdated to March 1st.

If you think I posted all of this as A) Speculation and more insulting B) Trouble making - then you personally offend me! Again, final words to you on this subject - Had ANY of my post been 'speculation' 'untrue' or mere 'trouble making' I repeat - the club would have had my guts for garters! The fact that here we are nearly a week on and not a SINGLE word has been said to myself from the club to delete/detract my post, here or on any Facebook Social Media page - speaks volumes! This subject is now closed with you on my part.
