Four home games left and tomorrow we play the 🍒 in the first one. All I've got to say is, if we're three up at halftime I will still be worried! ☹️😁 COYH! We've played Bournemouth a few times lately so no Trivia from me this time. I think tomorrow is the first home game since Ron Baynham passed away? looking forward to applauding one of our great players.

Bit of a problem finding anything to say about Bournemouth that hasn't already been said so taking a hint from you Steve:
For those viewing, click on Ron's image and then magnify again. The text is well worth a read.
However, trivia needed and memory recounts: The Bournemouth Belle was a British named train run by the Southern Railway from 1931 until nationalisation in 1948 (with a break for the war until 1947) and subsequently by British Railways until it was withdrawn on 9 July 1967.

Terrific cuttings Liz - would have loved to have seen him play. I was at Chelsea for the Sputnik leap. I saw Ron from when he first replaced Bernard Streten through to his retirement. Anyone who saw Baynham perform and every goalkeeper since will have no doubts who the greatest was.

Terrific subs from Rob, a never say die attitude and the straining of every sinew means we are still in with a very big shout COYH!!! What a boost for us all

I enjoyed that and I haven't been able to say that too many times this season. Both teams committed to entertaining football. That's what football is about and we got the right result.
I can't select a clear man of the match, the sponsors gave it to Clark, yes but Mengi, Burke and obviously Barkley must be worth a shout. And how we worried when Mengi went over injured a couple of times, for me he's the Man of the Season.

Some great performances today and in particular Mengi, Burke, Clarke and captain Morris. However, the man of the match has to be the collective never-say-die spirit that runs through the core of our players. That cross from sub Woodrow to Morris for his goal was real class and he made a similar cross just a few minutes earlier. I recall Brian Clough saying years back “To win anything you need good luck in avoiding injuries”, well, that luck has certainly not sat on our bench this season. Hopefully, a few more of the “not out until next season” players will be fit to return and in particular Lokonga, Adebayo & one of the centre-backs.
Let's remember that this victory was against a talented Bournemouth side that broke splendidly on the counterattack.
Well done Luton; all we need now is a little more luck than we have enjoyed so far this season.

Fully agree with that Bill and have voted Mengi for player of the month.

Agree re all things Mengi. What are the rules/ethics re fielding a youth/reserve team next Saturday? Concerned that both Mengi and Burke are the essential ingredients to survival and Mengi went down twice yesterday and we all know about Burke’s fragility? Why put them through a hopesless cause next week and risk losing either or both of them? Appreciate this will not go down well with Liverpool or Arsenal fans but we are not going to stay up on goal difference. Go on Rob, do it. ?

Although Mengi seems indestructible I can't argue with that Sunny.

I agree in general with all the comments, whether Mengi played better then Burke doesn't matter, they were both superb. Just a shout out for two other members of the back line. Kabore has improved out of all recognition as a defender and proven to be versatile when required, in my opinion he has been a good loan signing, durable and good value. Kaminski is making so many good saves that they are in danger of being taken for granted, a bit like Sluga was at his best.
Good also to see the much maligned Woodrow is making a positive contribution, I am also pleased that RE has finally realised the contribution Berry can make as an impact sub and gave him 30 mins yesterday. His presence just behind Morris created havoc in the Bournemouth back line and freed up more space for Morris, great to see.
