Sorry to hear Gale. Hope you can get a comfortable new home in the ground ASAP. Media/advertising demands are so great and almost impossible to squeeze into a dilapidated ground- underlines the need for a new build. Sweet said further work will take place, not clear what or when but hard to see us moving before at least another three seasons after this one.

Once the West Ham game is safely navigated and all the media requirements for that satisfied, the Club have 3 weeks to get further work done, so I'd expect to see things looking a bit more finished when we come back for the Wolves game.
I need to be convinced that flipping round the refreshment hut under the DP is an improvement as it makes the concourse so congested, but I guess it may improve once people discover other refreshment points they can use. Plus most of the staff seemed to be new so the service wasn't exactly slick. They may not have been expecting quite such a big crowd for this game, either but that's the draw of a Premier League team, I suppose...

Thank goodness we played Gillingham before the transfer deadline - at least it is now more obvious where we need additions! As a mate texted last night, there were 3 players out there who would have significantly weakened last season's Championship team.
One can only assume that our new GK does a lot of boxer-training. PL experience or not, if I was a defender then I'd be 5h1ttin9 myself with that type of GK behind me - no someone who I would trust to help play me out of a sticky situation, as he proved last night when he panicked and kicked the ball into one of Gills' strikers from a back pass. I couldn't help but think "and we declined to buy Horvath" when that happened (possibly a wages issue rather than transfer fee issue). Memo to LTFC staff: please wrap Kaminski in cotton wool between PL matches.
I found it really disappointing that Jacob Brown had to do the running of some of his team mates as well as his own allocation. Brown's application and willingness to get involved all over the park was, for me, the biggest 'plus' from the game.
TBF, I thought we may have seen a change of system/formation to counter the fact that our WBs have been run past too easily in the two PL fixtures to date. I thought we may play with FBs rather than WBs even though it was against League 2 opposition. RE seemed to try Andersen in all three CB positions and thought his best was in the middle - however, that compromised Lockyer by playing on the right side so I don't think it improved the defence overall. It felt akin to NJ squeezing Bradley into the middle and moving Lockyer to the right - that didn't work either!
Maybe it's me ("yes, yes, it is!" I hear you cry) but we have, understandably, added more much skillful ball playing players to our squad but this has been at the expense of battlers who will get stuck in when needed. The physicality aspect of the Championship perfectly suited our squad but, ATM, I feel we haven't got much/any physicality about the better ball players who are being selected ahead of some of the promotion squad.
RE is clearly still experimenting at this early stage of the season but sacrificing all of the doggedness and devilment that got us here feels a bit like revolution rather than evolution.

We've lost our main stand seats due to increased seating required for hospitality (heard Monday night) so, at the Club's request, tried out the Bobbers last night. Hated it. Came away with a headache due to to lights, missed chunks of the game because of the bright advertising hoardings (couldn't see the ball against them) and only loos for those not in the posh padded seats were in the Kenny so quite a trek and limited facilities. Very interesting comments Gale. Would the problem with the lights be your particular vision, wearing glasses or glare? Perhaps polarised lenses are a necessity. Are the lack of loos permanent as I read elsewhere that they had installed unisex ones. Are you also saying that it is a long trek for refreshment? It was largely my sight problems although if the floodlights were angled down slightly there would be less of a problem. Polarised lenses wouldn't be sufficient but I think the problem would be far less noticeable if you didn't wear glasses. I did borrow someone's baseball cap and the shade from that helped a lot but not enough --the peak needed to be wider. I did see one unisex loo but it was in the VIP area which plebs like me weren't supposed to go in. Having said that the senior steward did tell the others to use their common sense and did let me into the VIP area but if I was a VIP I wouldn't be chuffed so I suspect that won't last long. It is a trek to refreshments (at the Kenny end). Also, if you are in the first few rows you are not protected from the rain. The upside is you are much closer to the players than where I used to be in the main stand and being next to the dug out means you can see Rob Edwards at close quarters.
