Curlz has been a good friend for many years and I’m so sad about this.
He has one of the Fool’s places at the Kit Sponsors/End-of-Season dinner next week, which I’m hoping he will be well enough to really enjoy.

I got the following message from our friend Curlz yesterday “Bill I was wondering If you put it on LTFC FOOL, Whether a few people would like to meet up before the Hull City match at the Leicester Arms for a final drink on Me. If you don't mind. Kindest regards Curlz... COYH.”
Curlz plans to be at the Leicester Arms at around 12:30 before the Hull game; I will be there at around that time.

Jess and I were pleased to be able to see Curlz yesterday. We had missed our chats with the "bonnie lad".

I've just heard from Curlz that he's in place at the dinner and pretty chuffed (not quite the word he used ) that both Gabe Osho and Ethan Horvath are on their table.

I know I am late to the party to post about Curlz. But there is a reason for this, which may become apparent in my post. I first 'met' Curlz in the days of 606. His posts and comments made me think I would like the guy. He had a great sense of humour and an astute football mind. He notified me he was coming to Australia, and would like to meet up. I was delighted. We arranged to meet at an appropriate time in front of Young & Jackson's Hotel, corner Flinders and Swanston St Melbourne. We forgot to determine if it was a red rose in the collar, or a newspaper under the arm to recognise each other!! I needn't have worried, there he was coming down the road (on crutches I might add, due to a fall on the plane - his story) in his Luton shirt - you don;t see many of them in Melbourne! Hello Bonnie Lad. A greeting I am sure we have all had, and all thoroughly enjoyed, as it was always said with love, friendship, comradeship and feeling. We had a couple of drinks at the hotel. And a couple of days later, I picked him up, and he stayed at my place with my wife Zena and I. I took him out showing him the sites, and in the evening (early morning) we listened to a game. It was a great time.
I next saw Curlz after many messages, posts etc between us and others, at the Brickies. It was a day to meet MelbourneHatter (me). What a great afternoon!!!! Zena and I were in the bar, and a young guy and I exchanged glances, and he said 'Are you here to meet MelbourneHatter?', My respnse, 'I am MelbourneHatter'. Then along came many others, including IKJP who mentioned this meeting in his post. What I didn't know was that Curlz had arranged with LTFCMick, for Zena and I to watch the game from Mick's corporate box. What a great afternoon we had. And Mick and his wife Sue, were the ultimate hosts.
Curlz and I stayed in touch via this forum, from 606 to 626 and now to Fools. He is a remarkable man, a GENTLE man, and a gentleman. He is a true Luton supporter, but more than that, he is a friend. He would give you the shirt off his back. It is so sad for Zena and I to be so far away, and not able to give the big lad a big hug. We would both love to.
As MelbourneHatter, I was banned from this board, and I accept and acknowledge full responsibility for that action. Fortunately after a couple of years, I was allowed back on, albeit as HumbleHatter. I have enjoyed a couple of seasons as Humble, and will remain as that for the future. What a fantastic year. I look forward to our period, however long it is in the Premier League.
I would be greatly appreciative if someone - or all of you - could pass this on to Curlz. Zena and I wish you speedy recovery, great health and happiness in the future, and look forward to your posts and our 'chats' on this forum.
Also our very best wishes to our friends and family of LTFCFools.

hi Richard and it's great to see you posting again. I remember welcoming you and Zena to the Lansdowne Club into our LTFC football alcove which a few on here and 262 enjoyed for their pre-game refreshment. If you remember you gave me a 626 badge which I subsequently passed on to Brian Webb of 'Hatters Heritage'. I tried to get in touch with you but unfortunately I had lost your email address and was hoping that you may have some news of Martyn Wells (tassie) who has not been around for ages, worrying. Anyway, best wishes to you and Zena, and hope all is good, Dave K.

Some really nice comments on here and great to be able to acknowledge a true LTFC supporting legend - I hope the great man reads them.
I'm much later than you Humble (I prefer Melbourne), as I rarely frequent the site but I will certainly pass on your message to Curlz as I do keep in touch and was out for a coffee and lunch with him just the other day.
I remember well Curlz's very first visit to KR as I had booked a long weekend break for him at the Wheelwrights which then kick-started his long association with Helena (the owner) and became his home for his regular subsequent visits, I Picked Curlz up from the airport and having never met him previously was slightly concerned that I wouldn't recognise him - when the time came the worry disappeared quickly as this large gentleman wearing a Luton flag as a cape, bright trousers and clogs appeared at the Pick-up and from that point a long lasting friendship developed.
Curlz is a great fighter and an optimist, he's not letting his condition get him down and is always full of cheer, he said to me recently (prior to the PO final) that he just wanted to see the Town make it into the Premier League, In a conversation the other day, he said he just wants to see Luton play a home Premier League game - I told him to stop moving the goal posts, at this rate he'll be demanding he watches the club on boxing day - and knowing him as I do … it wouldn't surprise me.
