The Lily-whites visit Kenilworth Road tomorrow, they have had two draws like us but thrashed Huddersfield 4-1 away in the cup. It's going to be hot so keep hydrated, hope the players will stay fit. Hoping one of our forwards can score a goal! COYH!! No trivia from me this week but if you have any it'll be welcome.👍

Hard to see 4 0 again tomorrow, hope I’m wrong. Most of us will be preoccupied with travelling to and from the game and with holding our bottles still. Wonder if they’ll water the pitch 😁

I stand corrected but wasn't it Division 2, so where do you get 'old division 3' from?

I stand corrected but wasn't it Division 2, so where do you get 'old division 3' from? Because it was new Div 2 in 1997 - the old Div 3 THIRD tier. The FL changed tiers in 1992 meaning we were relegated from Div 1 to - Div 1!

Tomorrow will be my 1,932nd Luton match attending and 1,256th at Kenilworth Road. It will be the 12th time I've seen P.N.E here since 1971 with current standings of 5 Luton wins, three draws and 3 defeats.
Probably going to be the hottest temperature I've ever seen a game at Luton..............though do recall our 1-0 opening 1998 win at Wycombe was a scorcher, when South of France recent signing Herve Bacque said post match - "that was much hotter than any game I've ever played in France" !

Half full Morris showed some promise and Elijah finally got into gear. Campbell and Clark both good, Freeman too, another good game from Horvath.
Half empty Not at all sure about Thorpe at this level yet. Too early to get too gloomy but a few concerns - why persist at sending high balls into a well organised, strong and tall defence? - lots of decent possession and a few half chances but not a single save from their keeper? - was it me but were they ‘stronger’ in midfield too (ball winning/holding)? - Naismith is longer with us and it showed today - surely Bree didn’t have to take every dead ball and corner, esp those on the left?
Overall Scoring goals looks like being a problem this season, hope I’m wrong

I thought Bell had his worst game for Luton today and him and Bree in the formation we are playing need to offer more going forward. Yes Clark and Campbell individually had good games but as BMS said our midfield were out muscled. They were very cynical on the few occasions we won the ball and looked dangerous it was a blatant foul, six of them were booked by a referee who seemed to love them. The time wasting from the first minute is going to kill football enjoyment,I'm not saying we are innocent when away from home.

Probably not a good time to report when hot, bothered and generally pissed-off.
Best bit of the afternoon for me was, wait for it, greeno, who approached me in the main stand before the game to enquire where Dawn sits? I said 'the other side of the gangway in an end seat', 'is that near the bloke in the orange shirt' said greeno. Classic.
For ninety minutes we played a succession of high balls into the box and got absolutely nowhere, haven't we got a plan B?
Out of our original 11 the only one who comes away with any credit is Campbell. The rest of the outfield players were absent and in my opinion I thought that for their goal our keeper could have made some attempt at the cross, but the highlights need viewing to see if that was realistic. Morris has the first touch of a brick carrying d onkey and demonstrates, with what I've seen so far, that he is no improvement on Jerome.
Of the substitutions, why is Woodrow here? but Thorpe had a couple of nice touches.
Come back Pelly, how we miss you.
PS - having checked the highlights, nothing the keeper could have done. It was a great cross, curving away from goal and too high and too far out for the keeper. Bell however?

I too had a brief chat with Greeno just after he'd given his money to Dawn, I then went and payed my donation to Dawn. Saw LL at halftime and he was about to pay up too. I put both Pott's down to score and one came good, unfortunately not our one!

Excellent summation Dave, I agree with every word. I agree too. Thorpe put in a decent cross or two but he's not ready to change games yet. I knew this season would be difficult but once we find the goal we will be back in business.

The highlight of my afternoon was definitely the string of people handing me their sponsorship contributions - it was great to see ikjp, greeno, shatter and loyal
