We play the newly relegated Clarets tomorrow at Turf Moor. They have lost some of their best players since Vincent Company took over in the summer break. They have also signed quite a few so very much a team needing to gel. We haven't played them for sometime I think season 2006/7? Someone will know! Good luck to those travelling hope you see a good match. COYH!! Burnley Trivia. In 1886 Turf Moor became the first ground to be visited by a member of the Royal Family, Prince Albert Victor the Grandson of Queen Victoria and son of Edward the 7th.

The Dunstable Dasher or the Skimpot Flier, good timing for that shot!

I shall be making my 6th Turf Moor visit tomorrow.
The first in Div One 1975 (lost 1-0) is the only time I've seen us lose there. 2 Hatters wins in 1997 (2-0) and 1999 (2-1), along with two draws in 1979 (0-0) and 1998 (1-1) are the other results.

Excellent posts and pics! As it’s my first visit to Turf Moor, I also looked up things Burnley - they too had an Alan Brown who both played for and managed them But their Alan only had one L - Burnley are one of a handful of sides that have won all four leagues. We’ve won three but we’ve won the League cup and they haven’t so there! - Turf Moor is on Harry Potts way. HP (no apparent relation of Dan or famous sauces) supposedly introduced the 4 4 2 formation - Many of us will remember player Ralph Coates. He sadly passed away in the L&D hospital - the French liqueur Benedictine is sold at Turf Moor - shots are topped up with hot water hence it’s title "Béné & Hot". This tipple was supposedly enjoyed by members of the East Lancashire regiment in WW1 in Normandy. As the temperature at todays game is predicted to be merely 18C, I may well indulge.
As for today’s Town line up and formation, who knows but we would all welcome a goal or two at the right end - COYH!

Unfortunately you missed the accents in Bénédictine and I would have preferred the temperature in Fahrenheit . A piece of completely pointless information. My parents sold our off-licence (I decided that 7 days a week was not for me) in 1965 and took a number of liqueurs with them. It was only a couple of years ago that I poured the last of them down the sink including the best part of a bottle of Bénédictine.

My accent omission was revenge for your omission of our Allan’s second L 😁 As for temperature measurements, you can F off 😁😁

Great point in the end after a terrific first half and a total rearguard in the second and a sigh of relief at the end. Osho superb and hope his injury is not serious.

Good summary Lake. Suppose it was inevitable that we would come under the cosh as soon as the 2nd half began. Until then it had been an even contest with us, despite much less possession, looking the more likely to score again. Burnley moved the ball around very well but either couldn’t create dangerous openings or if they did, hit the target. They have some class players - Maartens was outstanding I thought. Having weathered the initial second half storm, we began to get back into the contest, with Nathan’s subs helping to stymie the home side’s fluency. Osho was terrific, also thought Freeman and Horvath looked good acquisitions. Elijah and Campbell both gave hints of last season’s form but everyone competed and contributed well.

I agree with the comments on the game; a super point for Luton and a tough fighting rearguard battle in the second half. I feel that all of our players put in a great shift with for me, Gabe Osho being outstanding closely followed by Amari Bell. Then, of course, we have the quality to come on of the bench plus a few also to come back from injury.
Listening to NJ post-match, he reckons that Osho had cramp rather than an injury; fingers crossed.
Do we mis Kal Naismith? Well at the time of Naismith understandably leaving for financial security, I said I would rather he go than lose either Osho or Burke; two very high-quality defenders of the right age with very bright futures in the game.

Added to that Bill, apparently Bristol City fans have not taken to Naismith at all.

Added to that Bill, apparently Bristol City fans have not taken to Naismith at all. I felt that the "Kaldini" stuff after the Bournemouth winner went to his head and he had some poor games afterwards. Good as he was, he had a few mistakes in his locker.
