The Luton Town FC roller coaster continues tomorrow when we take on the Tigers at the MKM Stadium. The Luton "B" team (or was it the "C" team!) thrashed PNE on Wednesday, after tomorrows match they will have time to recover until April 2nd then the final push!! COYH!! Hull Trivia. I had never been to Hull until yesterday, having a few days up here with my wife. Very impressed with the City been to 'The Deep' today a huge sea life experience in the Old Town on the shores of the Humber. At Paragon Railway station saw this blue plaque dedicated to two local born musicians.

This won't take long as I've only ever seen Luton play once at Hull and sadly never made it to their old Boothferry Park Ground - despite playing there several times in the 1970's. The 2002, 4-0 Hatters romp I wasn't allowed to attend - read all about it!
I'm meeting up with our club captain's Mum Angie at lunchtime, his family are all from Hull, so very much looking forward to that - and she's very kindly asked me to bring her one of my new books she ordered!
Today will be my 1,920th Hatters match attending since 1966 and the 673rd away game since 1968.
My one game in Hull that I did see was:
2004 League 1 ( old Div 3) HCFC 3 Luton 0 Att: 18,575.
Hope to have a 3rd successive correct prediction today: Hull 0 Luton 2

Remember a 3-1 win at Hull with a goal by Alan West early in his distinguished career at Luton.

Another Championship team who think they are Manchester City and the tippy tappy play out from the back nonsense who probably had more possession than us. Trouble is there is only one team in the Country that effectively play that way. As Corporal Jones said, 'they don't like it up em' and like many who have gone before can't cope with fast, old fashioned, lower league football.
Man on the match for me has to be Adebayo with a goal and an assist but that doesn't detract from a marvellous performance from the other 10.

Not sure if we've previously had this referee but he certainly did appear to be quite anti-Luton when giving decisions. That's not sour grapes or bias from me, by the way, just the way I saw him ignore pushes and clipped ankles on our players but gave free kicks to Hull as soon as we went near them and they tumbled to ground.
The ref looked so disappointed that his lino didn't flag for any offences when Cornick scored our second.
Given the quality of some of this season's officials, maybe he was actually average in a poor group. But I do hope and pray that we may see much better (and more consistent) officiating IF (massive "IF") we get anywhere near the playoffs with 3 or 4 games to go ... let alone in the POs, themselves.
Best idea is for NJ and his merry men to get an automatic place so we aren't disappointed by the PO final officials!
COYH.

Proud I have been saying for some time the whole system of recruitment, training and promotion of referees needs a massive overhaul and NOT by the ex officials who seem to run all the FAs up and down the shires. It needs to be done by an independent body working for the good of football.VAR alone is not the answer,it would be better if an ex player was alongside the VAR referee to give an independent opinion.

I actually went to the match, and didn't jinx it! I thought Hull were welcoming (apart from being patted down on the way in) and I liked the way the signs on the bar read "Hatters End'. My brother (who lives south of the Humber) and I had very good seats and what a match!
Loved the little lad invading the pitch to get a selfie with Ingram; hope he hasn't got banned.
"The Deep": went there about 10 years ago, it was well worth seeing.

I visited the Deep excellent. And the lad who ran on made me laugh! The Humber Bridge Friday night. Moon River same night. Fab pics shatter. We had a wonderful day in Hull. Beautiful sunny morning drove up in just 3 hours from Junct 10 M1. Met the lovely Mrs Angie Bradley, mother of Sonny and widow of the very much missed Ray RIP, at the Avenue pub she organised for us. Have a great pic of us all pre match (it's on my Facebook page, but can't remember how to post pics on here?) I'm certain the good time we had, topped off by a fab Luton performance and win - we WERE entertained! gave Angie some much needed joy in her life. I too, loved the wee lad running on the pitch during play for a selfie with their keeper lol and as for Bree's stunning free kick - I equally love the Eurythmics ditty Sweet Dreams Luton fans have now recently dedicated to James Bree...........'Sweet Dreams are made of this, who am I to disagree, travel the world and the seven seas, everybody's looking for Jame Bree' .........BRILLIANT! Different ground old and new number 117 I have now seen Luton WIN at - really need to try and get to Huddersfield on a Monday night if possible to see if I can make it 118.
